I like what you are going for and I think you are almost there. Start with the bass. I think, just maybe, in your zeal to make something interesting with this instrument that you don't play you are doing too much with it. The part you've written may be cool on its own and fun to play, but the...
This is definitely an improvement from the last one in terms of sound and first mix. In terms of songwriting, like the last tune, the overall changes are great but specific parts written for each instrument make things a little chaotic. I think this particular genre wants to be really tight...
And do some choke hits, Gerg. And some hits on different spots of the cymbals, you know, center, periphery, center, periphery. Also, do some hits with soft mallets and brushes. Thanks! :p
Btw, song sounds great man. Except for the cymbals. :p
It came from nowhere and it sounds like it's still out in nowhere, which is not a bad thing if nowhere is your kind of place. :D
This could really work with some tripped out Miles Davislike trumpet but to each his own.
Keep making the music. I don't know how much an audience you'll find for...
That's cool. And when I say cool, I mean cool. :p
Yo, when that lead guitar comes in, it sounds like Pink Floyd if Pink Floyd played Jazz.
Oh, and hey, did you know it leans to the left and that horn in the beginning......:p
Great Song. The Dead played it with a swing and a quicker tempo but this relaxed interpretation of it is good too. I would like to hear it with a little less verb on the vocal. But, nice!
Good. The song is constructed well, and the vocal recording/performance makes this track. The lead guitar, also, has the tone I want it to have. The only thing that really jumps out is - I think you have the notorious cymbal problem. That damn cymbal, man. It's homerecorder's worst nightmare...
The value of music is in the eye of the beholder. I don't think the problem is with the music. I think you might just have problem with this "foreign currency." ;)
This sounds a ton better. That snare is far better for this song and I can hear the effect of the kit moved slightly ahead of the beat. The song isn't nearly as lethargic sounding.
Your mixing in this song is at its best when the tune is full with lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass, drums...
I think the song is really cool and arranged well. The hook part is particularly cool.
The drums need to be louder, man. References the average person has for a song like this probably include Moby, Fatboy Slim or the Chemical brothers. Drums are even more prominent in this kind of music than...
Fidelity is overrated. But, this is on the lo-fi side of lo-fi. That doesn't really bother me, it makes for a comforting listen and I enjoyed the song a lot. But, there surely is a middle of the road, I think, for this song between the current version and total overproduction. It's a good enough...
Happy-go-lucky is a synonym for gay. No problems issues or vices to write about? What kind of punk thrashcore rocker are you, the middle class poser kind? lol. You should bail this genre now and start writing show tunes, you know, to stay true to yourself. :D
Maybe you should write...
So, it took you a month to come up with She-Wolf lyrics. :D
That's an interesting answer.
Yeah, I guess so. The last time I was in here, it was a whole different cast of characters.
