just give me your opinions on what could ahve been fixed... it's rather old, don't worry no feelies (yes, feely weelies) will be hurt. i usually don't finish my tracks all the way, and i thought that out of my usual hour of experimenting with all my tacks for years now never ever getting one finished really... this one is ONE of the very few that were close to full... and this one truly came outta no where.

It came from nowhere and it sounds like it's still out in nowhere, which is not a bad thing if nowhere is your kind of place. :D

This could really work with some tripped out Miles Davislike trumpet but to each his own.

Keep making the music. I don't know how much an audience you'll find for it, but I think it's cool.

Stripped of the bug sounds, and some of the guitar noodles, this would be a fine film floor for a suspenseful chase scene....like a manhunt through a dark, damp Central Americal jungle... a CIA guy being pursued by FALN guerillas.

It's recorded well, and has a lot of impactfull low freqs. There are publishing houses who specialize in this stuff. If you have a lot of it...get it in the mail to publishers...google...seeking composers of sci-fi, drone, and other specialty film work , to submit. Really. Seriously.

If this one is an indication, you have an in-demand product. You need to find someome who can hook you up with producers. Get thee a publisher.

Listen to some of the samples, like "The Threat". Check the link to their affilliate program. This is one of about a thousand hits on a search for "suspense thriller science fiction music publishing". Make contact. Learn about the business by looking at sites, and listening, and checking if you are invited to submit work. Submit. I think you've got a good shot.

Or even with the bug sounds...notice how this publisher has a variety of instrumentation on a single work. Multiple masters of different tracks. He's smart. A lot of houses will throw up a version, then have to special-order from the composer for a strip or add. Take a clue from this. Do as many masters of various combos that rock you, say, at least two...fullish...and more stripped. Select the best two, that contrast the most, on each of a dozen tunes. Put them on a dozen CD's...and get them all in the mail to anyone who's in this business. Also, put ALL the work on soundclick...a lot of houses now want to ONLY sample your work by a visit to your site...if they're interested, they'll contact you. Follow instructions at the publishers' sites.

Good luck.

another track...more of an ambient track...and made on fruity loops about three years ago before i had reason.

and dude, thanks for the advise; certainly i will not only consider your advise but i'll be looking back at this post with some very helpful affirmation. thank you.

Yeah man! Aside from the bottle drop and opening the Whitman's sampler every 20 seconds, that's the ticket!

But what these cats want most of all are ORIGINAL spooky sounds. So if you like to play with sine waves...or if you create unique mic'd sounds...even better....there are producers of film looking for it. And they like high-rez 24/48 files available.

Like making noise with a 6' rubberband in concert with a cardboard box drum...some catchy thing....getting on stereo mic's or maybe in surround [5 mic's...don't know much about that] and adding some delay and verb different ways...multiple masters...the uniquer and spookier, the better. And you can get that low rumble they love....very big on subsonics.

I have a friend who has been at this kind of thing for years. No matter how I preach to him...he never is ready to send his things to anybody...always something he has to do first. Him and his Theramin...all alone...unknown to the world...creating sci-fi soundtrack that no one will ever hear...and will never earn him any money....when they really could!!!

Don't wait...collect your nuthin's and do something with them. There's no thrill like watching your name zoom by on the credit roll of "Zombies from Zumar"...until the next time...and the next time. Everybody who's doing it and making a living on it started from the place you are right now....except they were brave enough to stick a fistful of CD's in a mailbox a while ago.

Do it. Just do it.

grr... damn, i like where YOU'RE coming from... i like all sorts of experimental music... jeez... i must take my leave for now but i wish i could chat more. thanks alot for your preach... it was awesome

i'm gonna like it here at home recording... :D most people on other message boards didn't quite know what to make of my or my "groups" music.

I quite like ambience - reminds me of the Fripp & Eno projects, (Evening Star & No Pussyfooting specifically), with added found sounds.
Please continue.

another oldie but not as old as the other two... about a year...

it was meant to be basic and capture the sort of mood you'd get at some conjuncture in a movie or story if you will...

and also another one... an experiment in reason noise... got into pan sonic at the time so it's alot of random. http://www.box.net/shared/r3ux4moxo6
