    Bounce to tracks

When you bounce to tracks, shouldn't the waveform look the same as if I recorded my tracks to a stereo track? I just got done with the mixdown of my latest project. I'm getting ready to post it in the clinic. Out of curiosity I took all the audio files used in the mix and bounced them a...

In what order do you prefer to record?

I track everything in this order, normally: Drums (sequenced) Main Keys Bass Guitars Ambient keys (pads, strings, etc.) When I mix: Kick Drum Bass Main Keys The rest of the drums Guitars Ambient keys (pads, strings, etc.) Vice

    Disable control

For all you midi heads out there using Sonar. When you right click on a field such as volume, pan, etc. there is a choice to disable control This may sound stupid, but what is control for? I know the value is in parentheses when I do nothing after inputting my midi data. I looked it up in...

    Console view in SONAR

I used to use the console view because I thought it was cool, and therefore I would, too, be cool. It made me look like a recoding genius even though my tracks still sounded like crap. After coming to this BBS, I found the console view was viewed with disdain. And because I am a follower, I...

How do I use my multiple drives correctly??

You might not need to buy that extra controller if your motherboard already has two on it. On the back of the drives should be a jumper (you might need to use the documentation that came with the drives if you can't tell) that allows you to select master or slave. Vice

    Helllpp!!!

Type faster! :D :D As for Mr. heyman109, I'm not sure, I guess what exactly you need help with, but here's a little helpful guide it's for mackie mixers but the principles will still apply I believe. Click here. That link coupled with your own manual should point you in the right direction...

    Helllpp!!!

Ok, well if you want to get into multi-track recording you have some options available. A multi-tracking program like Sonar or Cubase will be needed. There are others out there, though. These programs will allow you to use software based effects amoung other things. You might also will want...

How do I use my multiple drives correctly??

Since there are no takers on this one so far, I will give it a shot. You probably have at least 2 controllers on your motherboard, right? On the first controller as master, I would put the 20gb hdd. I would install my OS, Sonar and any other apps I need. The slave drive would be one of my...

    level meters...are they acurate?

Cross, thanks for the tip. I think I actually understand it. This, I am assuming, is something you use after you have the track recorded? And sonar is set to clipping overflow - I need to go find out what that means now... Thanks again! Vice

    Behringer MX802A

I have the MX802a. It's useable, but it will be replaced when I get around to it. When I was buying my mixer, I went out on a cost only basis. It, of course won. Now, that I have more than a smidgeon but still less than an inkling, I find what it lacks to be undesirable. It does work. I...

    Rack Mount Computers?

I believe you can buy monitors that are designed to work in rack mount situations. I will have to find the link. I was looking at doing that myself. I noticed some people use flat screens. Let me search for the link. Vice

    level meters...are they acurate?

I used SoundForge awhile ago. I would noticed there seemingly was different in the meters between it and Sonar. It would seem as though the same program material would clip in Sonar and everything would be okay in SF. I never came up with an answer, so, I eventually left it alone. That was...

How many computer do you have ?

I have 4 total, but 2 in that are in use. 1. An old Gateway P133 with 48mb RAM. It works, just not very fast. It stays unplugged. I'm supposed to get rid of it, but I can't seem to part with it. 2. K62-500 AMD, 128mb ram. Old DAW. It has a DFI mobo. I built it. It never worked...
