I thought it was the guy from Meshuggah that did the drumkit from hell? There is usually tons of reverb on the snare on Bergatrand produced records. Seriously tons. The sound on Come Clarity is not as extreme as some records he has recorded. To me it almost sounds like a drum with the snares...

Humbuckers on a strat = a cheap way to get a wicked tone. My Strat is the only electric guitar I own and I love the way it plays, but single coils suck for metal and I don't have the cash for a second guitar. So for a $110 mod, I got a guitar that plays awesome and has the tone I want...

Don't feel too bad. An old guitar player of mine got pissed off at something I did (I don't even remember what) and he threw his SG at me. Snapped the headstock right off. Your busted jack is nothing. Shit'll buff out.

I have a Boss GT-6 and it does everything I want it to. I could be wrong, but I don't think there are that many extra features in the updated GT-8, so if you are budget concious, not concerned about having the absolute latest and greatest, and can still find one, it would be an awesome option.
