But if you don't know what that position is, it takes some trial and error(work) to find it. I just prefer the term "playing" to keep it fun - which is what it's all about for me :)
I just got a pair of Tannoy Reveals and wasn't very happy with them for a few days, until I placed them vertically, 3' apart(center to center), angled in toward my ears and 3'-3 1/2' from my ears. Also my ears are at the level - midway between the woofer and tweeter. What a big difference this...
Hmmm. If the sound is THAT much different between what you hear "live" and what you hear on playback, I would think it would be a "settings" problem. Are you recording at CD quality (16/44)?

In the past year I've made about 8 purchases from them and have always received the orders on time. I haven't had to return any, but their return policy seems to be excellent.
Also, I believe they will match any legit online price. Just not sure if...

They have been around since 1967. I've built a bunch of their kits and have found them to be very reliable. Also, the folks that run the show are helpful.
I haven't used the Aphex, but I just tried something with my V-amp2 I thought may be of interest.
I ran my acoustic through it on some "clean" settings, using a DeArmond 260 pickup and the sound just blew me away! Of course I couldn't resist trying some "distortion" settings - they surprised...
You can use dBpowerAMP Music Converter (dMC) to do this easily.
Just right-click your file and set the parameters(it will remember them the next time) and away you go!
