    Vokator in Sonar

I have a MIDI capable Roland EM-10...so in the Vokator stand-alone program, I spoke/sang into the microphone while playing the keyboard...same way any real vocoder would work...you need two inputs, the vocoder combines the two together...so hope that explains it a little better.

    Vokator in Sonar

Wouldn't my MIDI keyboard be the controller? I can control Vokator fine in it's stand-alone program, but just not in Sonar...so I can't record anything with it.

    Vokator in Sonar

Alright, guys - You've been very helpful so far! I appreciate it immensely, and you will all get a free copy of my cd once I'm famous!* :D But, here's my next, and probably far from last, question: Why the funk can't I control Vokator with my MIDI keyboard in Sonar? I can control pretty...

    MIDI, NI and Sonar problems

Okay, so I've managed to record MIDI from my Roland EM-10 to my computer, which is awesome. But it seems like I can only use the sounds that are in my keyboard banks. Is there any way for me to use the soft synth samples of Absynth or any NI plug-in for that matter? I'm able to use my keyboard...

    Recording probs in Sonar

Okay, here's a reinactment of the situation- I have just finished recording, let's say, a rhythm guitar track. Now I want to record some lead work to go with it. So I add another audio track, arm it and hit record, only to find that it's recording the playback of the rhythm track! Why is this...

Sonar vs. Nuendo vs. Cubase and others

Hey guys... I'm just starting out in the whole home studio stuff. I was just curious - how does Sonar compare to Cubase and Nuendo (I'm guessing they are in the same ranks). Also, how far below the ranks of ProTools and Logic is Sonar? Thanks!

Setting up a MIDI capable keyboard

Hey everyone. I'm brand new to this forum and fairly new to the home recording scene. I am interested in hooking up my Roland EM-10 keyboard (which has "general MIDI" capabilities) to my computer so I can control some of the soft synth programs I have, such as NI Absynth. I have an Audigy 2 ZS...

Hooking up a midi capable keyboard

Thanks for the info! Kinda sucks to hear about my soundcard, since I just bought it in hopes to record some decent sounding music. I'm not expecting major label, high-end quality stuff...but somewhere in the mid-range would be nice. Oh well. Okay, so for my next question, what's the difference...

Hooking up a midi capable keyboard

Thanks for the suggestion! Come to think of it, I think I have one of those floating around somewhere. So, is it just a matter of plugging all that in? Or would I have to enable some setting in the program?
