Hello, My name is Johnny Cashless

Hi, Folks. I´m about to pay a tribute to this great singer w/ an acoustic duo that I have. I recorded these vocals w/ a instrumental track from the you tube and I´m showing some people around to collect opinions about how alike it sounds. By the way, I used a MXL 990 and a Presonus Bluetube...

    The cluelessness Part II

I´ve been revisiting my early tracks and ideas... This one was recorded few months after the Weird Swing. By the quality of recording, my gear was the same (i didnt start with great mics etc) This time, there´s some eq. on the session, but anyways, it´s sounding really bad equalized, with too...

In the beginning I was clueless (2002)

I agree w ya in parts. Maybe I could claim this weirdness could be the ´thing´ on that track. But besides that, I mean, I didnt even employed eq.! The parts off-tempo, some dissonances by mistakes... etc etc The disregardness towards it, that´s what bothers me.

In the beginning I was clueless (2002)

Music direction, that´s the word I havent found to describe it as well. Too long of a track and few things happening. Maybe it´s hypnotic groove which makes just a bit interesting. Really, I didnt know about song structure or anything... just played along.

In the beginning I was clueless (2002)

I´ve found this track 1 day ago and couldn´t believe how disregarding I was when I bought my first interface. That was in 2002, the same year of this track. The net was a different game. You kind had to do stuff by intuition. I couldnt play all the instruments a great deal too. Anyway, this...

is it advisable to use a Shure 7B for amp miking?

quite simple question... Actually I´m aware of its voice recording reputation (thriller album, broadcasting etc etc) Would I damage it using for amp miking? Case not, then I would have a great mic for 2 great pourposes thanx

    The greatest band. Ever.

My Holy Trinity: ACDC/ Deep Purple/ Black Sabbath Lately, Glenn Hughes pulled a great album with the Black Country Communion (1rst one) and revigorated my classic rock ideas.

Tips to get a vintage sound on a mix

Nicely exposed. But I wasnt really thinking that a plugin would save the day, actually. I was just thinkin´in a sort of adding up, perhaps. The more I´ve been listening some new bands, the more I realize that I can find a great deal of achieving some nearly results like that. Check out and see...

Tips to get a vintage sound on a mix

but I think if some kind of plugin would give at least a ´nearly there´ colour of a vintage sound? Something like this, for instance Olympic Studios Special, Waves ‘Golden Chain’ Plugins. | mediaspec

Tips to get a vintage sound on a mix

But I think that this playing together thing - considering the band is doin´it flawlessly - also involves a great deal of mic placements knowledge. And that demands a really great deal of time as well, specially the leakeges stuff to avoid and a specific type of mixing as well, right? All...

On an album recording, drums must be retuned for all differents tracks?

Yeah! That´s good news. Sure thing we will purchase his cd. And I can tell we will be the first here in Brazil to have it!

On an album recording, drums must be retuned for all differents tracks?

That was my primary thought about tuning the drums! And I think it´s a really good start!

On an album recording, drums must be retuned for all differents tracks?

Classic Rock. That´s why I had doubts about the tuning thing. I´ve been listening to bands like Tracer, Free Fall, Kadavar, Rival Sons and some stoner bands. I must confess I can´t distinguish different tuning all the time on the drums. I had the thought that maybe a band would pick a tuning...

On an album recording, drums must be retuned for all differents tracks?

Hi, folks. The title is kind of self-explanatory. I´ve heard that to enhance the compositions, for each track the drums must be retuned according to the possible different song keys... what do ya say? thanx again

Tips to get a vintage sound on a mix

Thanx. It´s a possibility as well. I´ve read about that as well. But as you´ve mentioned, the performance has to be OK. If you´ve got the yo yo dance on tracks, i doubt that any label will consider a deal to distribute your cd or whatsoever to your band.
