I'm really sorry about the delay in my response!
Anywho, I'm really trying not to spend over 700 on whatever other mic I'm gonna buy soon, seeing as my wife would have two heart attacks and a stroke, and kill me in my sleep.
As I already said, that ribbon mic has helped considerably. I was...
I bought the R144, and let me tell you: WOW. That thing gives the most natural sound I've ever recorded. I was literally able to use my live sound, with just a couple teensy little adjustments mind you, and got a really good distorted guitar sound. Thanks a lot.
Yeah, so, I know that is a kind of broad question, since I'm sure a lot of that final sound is done with "production magic". I mean, I've got some great microphones now, a pretty decent interface and 2 really good DAW programs. I just am trying to figure out what I need to record into the mic...
Thanks for all the info! I very much appreciate it. I had a Mac already, so I went ahead and downloaded Logic. It's....different. Much more to it than I expected. That is not a bad thing. I'm just gonna have to learn it. But again, thank you so much.
So, I'm gonna be ridiculed by this. However, for a pretty good price, I'd pick up a Peavey Valve King and a Wampler Plextortion. That Peavey has an incredibly solid clean and a pretty dang good heavy sound. The Wampler is very Marshall-y sounding, metallic and throaty. Very pleasing. This is my...
To start off, I am currently using Reaper as my main DAW program. I've been mostly happy until recently, when I ran into some problems with IK Multimedia programs clashing with Reaper. Turns it, it's a known issue to the folks who make Reaper. ANYWHO..
I am trying to figure out if Logic would...
I had previously recorded a a few tracks for a song in reaper. In a couple parts, a metronome would help. However, the bpm is default at 120. I need to change the bpms to make the metronome and the song line up. But every time I do, it changes the tempo of the song too. Help!
I have been doing a good bit of recording lately. I plan on doing a lot more. I think I am going to buy some more mics. I just don't know what all I should get since there are soooooooooo many misc out there. The mics I already have: SM 57, Senhieser e609 and a blue Spark. All of them are good...
Well, I'm fairly new to home recording, still learning, but getting better.
Now, what I'm trying to figure out is how to add delay at only certain parts of a vocal. My prime example would be Alter Bridge's "Ghosts of Days Gone By". On the verses, there are 2 repeats at the end of each phrase...
Thanks for all the help guys! I downloaded Reaper. Still trying to figure it out, as it is a WHOLE LOT more in-depth. However, I think everyone is right. This seems to be much better suited for what I want. Again, thanks!
Well, I have been doing some recording with Garageband with some really good results. However, maybe I just don't know what I'm doing, but mixing with Garageband seems to be a bit difficult. I was doing some reading online, and a lot of people are saying that Audacity is better for mixing songs...
Well, as far as the feedback, I don't think its doing that. No matter how low I turn the headphones it still does that. I am running the line outs from the interface into the inputs of the headphone amp. Like I said at the first of the post, it doesn't do the digital "squealing" when I use my...
I'm new to home recording. My current setup: M-Audio Mobile Pre (dont laugh, it works), running the rear line outs into a PreSonus HP4 headphone mixer.
Well, I know there is no problem with my Shure SM57 mic and my Senhieser 409. I just got a Blue Spark mic. Problem is, if I try using my...
