Looking for a drum module (budget $450)

I'm recording with a mixer which connects to my computer via firewire. I'd like to trigger the snare and kick, and mix the mic'd drums with the triggered sounds.

Looking for a drum module (budget $450)

I'm interested in triggering my acoustic drums (mainly the kick and snare), for recording purposes. I've got about $450 to spend. Which module should I go with? I looking for something that sounds as natural and real as possible. What about the Alesis DM5? Thanks!

How much would you pay for this?

I believe it is a Rhodes Mark II Seventy Three model. Assuming that it plays fine, how much would you pay for it? It has one cracked key. Below are some pictures. Thanks! http://216.247.204.179/jonathan/rhodes/8.jpg http://216.247.204.179/jonathan/rhodes/2.jpg...

Thanks. I don't have any problems with the 1620. I'm using a PC with 2.8 GHz Pentium 4, 2 GB RAM, and Service Pack 2.

Is this a fat production? (Grooving Metal Inside)

It sounds good, but distorted. I dunno if you're going for that, but the drums sound distorted. Especially the kick.

Does anyone know a good place to look for a wide selection of drum wrap? Also, does anyone know how I can get wrap in Pearl's Charcoal Metallic (#98)? Thanks!

    Collaboration anyone?

I was wondering if anyone wanted to do a collaboration? I can put a live drum track to someone's song if they'd like. Maybe something like easy rock, indie, acoustic, jazz, pop... something along those lines. Below is a quick drum take I took today while setting some levels. (Just to give you...

    $500 Snare vs. $50 Snare

Thanks for all the replies guys! Here's the catch though, I switched the names of the MP3s. The one titled "Export" was the Starclassic, and the one titled "Starclassic" was the Export. It just goes to show you that when mic'd up, eq'd, and processed, expensive drums might not be so necessary...

    $500 Snare vs. $50 Snare

I'd like to get some opinions on these two snares. I'm matching up a Tama Starclassic G Maple Snare and a 2004 Pearl Export Poplar Snare. Below are two recordings of the same kit, but with different snares. Which one do you like the best? Thanks. http://216.247.204.179/jonathan/starclassic.mp3...

Here's a drum take I just recorded and a picture of my setup. Does the kick sound to loud? Thanks. http://216.247.204.179/jonathan/drums022706.mp3 http://216.247.204.179/jonathan/drums0227062.JPG

New Snare, Tama Starclassic G Maple (pics & recording)

Sorry for the slow reply, my birthday was yesterday so I didn't have time to get online. Overheads: KSM44 (panned hard left and right) Kick : D112 (center) Snare: SM57 (center) Toms: SM57 (panned left to right) The snare's tuning is pretty tight. About 2.5 turns on the bottom head and 1.08 on...

New Snare, Tama Starclassic G Maple (pics & recording)

I just purchased a new snare, the Tama Starclassic G Maple (14x8). So far it's really great. The sound is punchy and fat. Click here for a quick recording I made. http://216.247.204.179/jonathan/snare1.JPG http://216.247.204.179/jonathan/snare2.JPG
