    adding tweeter to amp

what I'd like to do is add a tweeter to my guitar amp that is swtchable, (on/ off) for playing my acoustic thru it, presumably making it sound better, like when it's played thru the PA. this way I can still use the built in effects of my amp on the acoustic gtr. So my questions would be 1. do I...

    unborn baby song

Jagular, tha's great man, (the "can't you see" comment). That's the first thing I thought of when I listened back after doing the lead guitar parts. Oh well, I like that song too. Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna keep working on it.

    unborn baby song

thanx for the comments TripleM. The mic is a couple year old marshall condenser MXL 2001 maybe? not sure. kinda heavy on the midrange frequencies I think but I really have to hover around it a bit to find a sweet spot that sounds good with my voice. I'm thinking of rerecording the vocals since...

    unborn baby song

thanks for the replies folks. I appreciate the listen. Groucho: My drum micing/ recording technique leaves a lot to be desired, I know. I was thinking maybe some reverb on the whole stereo drum tracks would help it find it's place in the mix. I'm not sure. Maybe it's just the style of drumming...

    unborn baby song

I wrote this song to/ about my as yet to be born child when, early in the pregnancy, doctors told my wife and I that the her body was trying to miscarry the baby. That's enuff to piss anybody off and being a person of faith, this is what came out later that night after thinking and praying about...

A new 5th Street Band song for ya

I feel the love man:cool: . not much to say about the mix and stuff. sounds like you know what needs to be done already. sounds like the vocals start distorting some around 3:00 or so, but that's the price of passion, eh? vocals with passion rule.

    Stereolight, Robin Song

great grooves my friend. Goes good w/ brandy. I'm listening on computer speakers so I don't know if I should comment but anywayz, here goes. love the space of the mix, sounds, guitar leads, all sweet to my ears. the only thing I noticed was excess sibilance on the vocals, maybe due to the...

vocals too loud in the mix...

thanx for the input folks. I was actually thinking about doubling the track and then using a vocal remover. I have already tried the parametric eq idea with little bit of success, so maybe I'll try the remover next. Thanx again.

vocals too loud in the mix...

so, I have this live recorded thing of me and some friends. over all i like the sound of pretty much everything, BUT, the vocals came out way too loud in the mix. It is a mono mix (just 1 trk) and I need the vocals to be brought down a lot, while the rest of the track stays the same. any ideas...

    what child is this...

Thanx for the input chrisharris. Yup, it's a Martin;) since white lies are ok. (I wish):D Truth is it's a charvel acoustic/ electric i got for like $150 a couple of years ago. Must have been the new strings. In retrospect, I have to agree about the doubled vocals on the melody. Alas, I...

    what child is this...

thanx much gentlemen. This kind of music is just fun to do. Muzeman, I recorded the guitar w/ an old marshall mic, probably just off the sound hole toward the 12th fret on one channel, and a direct into another channel thru an art tube mp preamp. Seems to work okay I guess. Stonepiano, go...
