I got it today, plays and sounds great. The only change it needs are new strings (came with 9's, I'll replace them with 10's). It's also the first Squier I've bought that played perfectly right out of the box. As promised here are some pics (had to shrink them to upload):

I like Jimmy Vivino the best out of the late-night bands, but Eubanks is very good. The only thing is that Eubank's tone sounds somewhat muffled, like you're only hearing the back of the amp or something.

Hi, I was wondering what would be the optimal way to set output levels for mixing? Right now I have my soundcard output set on max, and the volume on my Hafler TA1100 amp set to 3/10. I always figured this was the way, but on the Hafler manual it mentions turning up the source level to 2/3-3/4...

Nice cover...I really like the drums and the fills on guitar. The vox effect sounds in place once everything kicks in. Hard to hit that falsetto part (I tried myself) and that's about the only major area I'd fix. GJ :)

How good are the mic pres on this thing? I'm currently using an Audiophile 2496 and an Audio Buddy. I was looking for something for my laptop, and was wondering how the US-122 compares to the Audio Buddy.

I've got the Audio Buddy and was wondering whether the DMP3 is a noticeable step up. By some accounts it looks like they sound the same, but the DMP3 has some added features.

Just curious, if you want to upgrade to Waves plugins with PT LE, do you have to buy a special format (not DirectX or VST)? As I understood it, PT LE couldn't use plugins in those formats. Thx :)

Thanks for the help. I think I'll buy one for the V67G ($25). I finally got around to buying a $20 pop filter after using a foam windscreen for so long, and that made a difference (less muffled highs). Hopefully this will be worthwhile too :)

Hi, I have a couple of oft-recommended condensers (SP B1 and Marshall V67G) and I got my first real chance to use them last weekend. So far I'm just using the clips that came with them, but was thinking about getting shockmounts (frankly just because it seemed like everyone else uses them)...

My acoustic (Taylor Big Baby) is pretty bright sounding with not a lot of bass. When I mic'd it with a 603S it sounded kind of metallic and bad. I found using an SP B1 made it sound much more balanced. So I guess it depends on your guitar. People who like the 603S probably have more...

Why does the J-Station draw so much juice? I noticed it gets hot after being on for 5 minutes and the power supply is always warm.

I played with the Oxygen 8 at Guitar Center and it seems like a decent unit. I only bought the Evolution MK-225C because a few said it was built sturdier. But either unit IMO is fine. MF has Reason 2.0 for $199, and you can download the 2.5 upgrade for free. That would be my pick.
