    Headphone suggestions

Chalk up another vote for the Sennheiser HD280 Pro. It delivers well defined sonic quality. I just ordered my second pair.

    MEMORY Question

My PC came with PC2100 DDR Ram. I have 512mb in it now and want to bump it up to 1GB or maybe 2GB later on. Would it be BETTER or make any difference if I started using PC 2700 Ram instead?

Shure KSM27 vs. Audio Technica 4040

I was just like you a few months ago, trying to chose one over the other. I needed a good Voice-Over mic and went for the AT4040. So far no regrets! It's like farting through silk dude! Clean and smooth!

    The Passive Monitor Round-Up

I'm looking to get myself a brand new spanking pair of PASSIVE monitors for my Voice-Over studio. I've narrowed my choices to three: Samson Resolv65 $199 Alesis Monitor One MK2 $199 Behringer B2030P $129 Which ones would you choose?

    ALESIS MultiMix Mixers

I could've put this in the Alesis Forum, but opted to place it here for more general responses. My question is, are ANY of you using any of the Alesis MultiMix series of mixers or do you know of anyone who is or has used them? I'm a Mackie fan and a Yamaha fan myself and was sort of curious...

Still lost on a vocal mic ..limit $300

Chalk up another vote for the Audio Technica AT4040. It is indeed a flawlessly crisp, clean microphone. It was well worth the $299 price tag. I got mine three weeks ago and use it for voice-over work.

Headphones within the price range of 100$

Chalk up another vote for the Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones. They are so crystal clear, that it's almost intimidating! The closed back style cans completely cover the ear and form a tight seal that shuts out the wolrd and immerses you into the music and your mix. I do Voice-Overs and these are...

    Small Commercial Studios

I use my home studio for Voice-Over work. It's my main income earner these days. I used to work in radio, but had an accident. Luckily I had my investment to fall back on! :D

New Samson Rubicon ribbon tweeter monitors

SAMSON RUBICON 5a, RUBICON 6a ACTIVE RIBBON STUDIO MONITORS Traditionally, ribbon transducers (such as microphones) have been extremely expensive, which is why ribbon monitors have been extremely rare. Samson is going against that grain with its new Rubicon 5a ($329, pair) and Rubicon 6a...

Are Behringer Eurorack Mixers worth a f**k?

Yep! I must agree with you there Sharp! I would suggest that he goes for a Yamaha as well. The MG10/2 is $99 and the MG12/4 is around $199. The pre-amps are alot better. I had a Behringer MX2004 and I had channels dying left and right during the two years that it was in use. I now use a Yamaha...

    Shrek 2 voice over

Another good Voice Over microphone is the Audio Technica AT4040. This is a side-address condensor. The Electrovoice RE20 and the Shure SM-7B are dynamic microphones and are front address mics. The AT4040 is around $299, the Shure S7-B is $350 and the EV-RE20 is around $399. AT4040 Shure...

    Mxl2001 ??

Yeah I've got one of those. I bought it in 2002 and use it for Voice-Over work. It works well, although it's a little on the bright side. i have to do alot of tweaking on the EQ to get it just right. But all in all, a good mic. Here's a review: http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/194

    Studio Amp Recommendations Wanted

Hey Sonic! You can check out the Samson line of studio amps too. I use the Servo 170, bought it at Sam Ash for around $169. I've had it since 2002 and I've had no hic-ups whatsoever. There's the 120, 170,260 and 550 in the series. Check em out!

Audio "bleed-through" when recording using Behringer MX602

Yeah man I share your pain. I think that's one of Behringer's major faults. I had the MX2004 20 channel mixer and had to throw it out. In about two years, three of the channels died. A good friend of mine had the larger 48 channel console for a while and after a few years his channels were...

    does anyone use Joemeek Microphones?

I was wondering the same thing too bro! I saw the Joe Meek JM47 Large Diaphragm Studio Condenser Microphone and I fell in love with it on looks alone. I never got to audition it though. Maybe I might take the chance and buy it on impulse.

    Newbie Voiceover Advice

Hey Whyseye! Greetings from one Voice-Over artist to another. I've been in the business since 1997 when I began my career in Radio. Over the years I saved my pennies was able to set up my own studio. I definitely know what it's like to start out on a shoestring budget. Here are my suggestions to...
