Katy ... this may/may not help you ... but it just might be worth a try. Assuming you have both a computer and an extra zip disc ... try copying all of the contents of the disk to another disk that has been initialized. And then try to write to that disk. I do this all the time ... back-n-forth...

Hello folks .... I have a BR1180 that I purchased about a year ago that I've never used. I have a BR8, and purchased the 1180 with hopes of running them in tandem via midi and the digital outs. I came to learn that it was not possible because the midi jacks are only outs. A lesson learned...

ahhhhhh, so your not actually applying a +6db amplitude to the track, but simply raising the track volume +6db? thanks, peeder

chris . . . i had a .wav file at work to try your suggestion. perhaps i am missing something, but after amplifying the file 6db, and then taking the volume envelope down to the center (-6db), i still found that i could not raise the volume above 0db. hmmmm?? peeder
