    Studio 32 down again!

I would love to work on a Mackie 32-8, or even a 24-8, but I don't think I can get my bass player/singer to spend that much. (The Studio 32 in question is hers, we own components separately) We might just pick up another Studio 32 and take it from there.

    Studio 32 down again!

Well, we haven't had much chance to use our Studio 32 since it came back from the shop (see other thread), but last night we were playing back a track and....out go the lights, and no sound through the monitors! Looks like it could be the power supply...we're ready to buy something else, I'm...

    Studio 32 in the shop

It's Alive....... Well, they called me late yesterday afternoon, and I picked it up from the shop this morning. Whew, the invoice says I took it in on May 29th. I didn't think it was that long ago, so that may be in error. Anyway, the price was reasonable for all the time they had to spend on...

    My bass recordings suck!

My recording partner and I could never make good recordings (always came out sounding way too bass heavy) until we totally changed our control room location and layout. You might want to get someone over with a frequency analyzer to see how you might make improvements in your listening...

    Time to re-cap.

Thanks for posting the pics of that bassman, 64Firebird! It makes me remember going to dances in Junior High and seeing a band with a wildman bass player that had the same sort of blond Bassman amp...he'd turn the cab on it's edge, and kneel in front of his Bassman getting feedback! All old...

    Studio 32 in the shop

Yeah, best time for it to happen, bass player and I have been going on vacation, biz trips, so we weren't playing anyway. I'm not even going to call the shop until next week, I'm sure they won't have it done today!

    Studio 32 in the shop

Hey Muttley, well, I got back from 2 weeks vacation Sun night, called the shop yesterday, and was informed it's driving the tech crazy, but he'll try to have it done by the end of the week. He told me a few weeks ago it was some tiny capacitor in the output section that's very difficult to track...

    Studio 32 in the shop

Well, our Studio 32 began transmitting a loud humming over the monitors about a month ago, and off it went to the local repair shop. They estimate 200-250 to fix. I think the problem is in the master output section. The problem is that each week they say it will be ready the following week, and...

    just bought a brc!

You can do some amazing things with the BRC, you may never get to use all the features, but it is a super tool in an ADAT studio.

i want a telecaster! any input appreciated.

After playing Gibsons for years, I got my first Telecaster, a Candy-Apple Red American Standard, a couple years ago, and while I still play Gibsons, and Strats, I love this Telecaster! I can tell you that the previous owner (a jazzbo who was selling it for the L-5 he ordered) had taken it for a...

    Y-cable for Parker guitar

I don't blame you for trying to avoid Hosa! I was doing a search this weekend for a source for short TRS cables, and I stumbled across one place that was selling cables for Parker guitars, but I can't locate it again, I used "TRS cable" and "TRS cables" in my Google search engine. Good Luck!

The offset function! Yes! OK, I gotcha! I'll try that, I know there is an offset function on these Alesis systems! Thanks again!

Cloning 8 tracks at a time.

Thanks for that, mixsit, now I have a follow-up question: I just got home from the 16-trk ADAT setup I share with my bass player, and made a clone, doing it one 8-trk section at a time as you described of one of the two songs we will bring to a pro studio next week. They came out synced too...

Cloning 8 tracks at a time.

Is is possible, using two ADATs to clone a single 16-track song onto new tapes? I know that you can clone 8 tracks at a time from one machine to the other, but if the song to be cloned is in the middle of each of the two existing tapes, and I want to bring two fresh tapes to the mixdown studio...

    Patchbay Search...

Mr. Patchbay....come on down! I've always thought that Mr. Patchbay seemed to offer a good variety of used patchbays, although I haven't bought anything from him. Check out his site at: http://home.flash.net/~motodata/patchbays/ He might have something you want.

I've seen the remarks on micing guitar cabs with the E609, have any of you tried it to mic bass amps?? And if so was it a good experience?
