Hey everyone,
I am trying to decide if I should buy a stand-alone multitrack digital recorder or if I should use the Cakewalk Home Studio program I bought awhile ago.
I would like to save money, as $450 for the recorder, mic, cables, windscreen, stand, and headphones is a big decision for me...
hi cellardweller,
I would like any reviews regarding these models (if anybody owns these):
Zoom MRS-4B 4-Track Digital Multitrack Studio
Korg PXR4 4-Track Compact Digital Multitrack Recorder
ToneWorks Pandora PXR4 4-Track Digital Recording Studio
I guess it's the size of these little machines...
If you guys could choose a 4-track digital recorder that was somehow similar in features to the Fostex MR-8, which 4-track would you choose and why?
I need an overview of the best 4-track digital recorders, minus the mini discs (don't like those).
I may buy a 4-track for the MR-8. Any...
Hi,
I'm looking to purchase a mini amp in order to electrify my Fender Acoustic/Electric guitar. I'm looking for something that is inexpensive, but has a good effect overall. Does anyone have any suggestions?
uh huh him
Hi,
Sorry if this is a little off-topic, but I feel comfortable posting in this forum. I am considering buy a small mini-amp to electrify my Fender Acoustic/Electric when I record. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

Despite the trouble with flash cards...
Are the effects really that bad, and if they are, would Cakewalk make up for it?
I'm trying really hard to convince myself to buy it, but is it really worth it?
uh huh him
So, is the Korg PXR4 better than the MR-8? Because I can always change my mind on which one I'd like to buy. Does the Korg allow you to use bigger flash cards/media cards?

Ok, cool. When I buy something, no matter what it is, I always read the user reviews. I don't know, I guess someone who's been around a lot of audio equipment has a better ear than someone who is just starting and maybe they can weed out what really is good, what is ok, and what is bad. The...
headphones?
What about a better pair of headphones? The AKG K44 Headphones are the cheapest, that is why I wanted to get those, but I have been thinking that I should get a pair that can offer better isolation of other sounds...any suggestions on headphones? I will definitely be purchasing...
I am looking for a cheap, but well-made, sturdy mic stand to purchase with my digital recorder. Does anyone have any suggestions on which type of stand would be best? Not too expensive, but not too cheap. I am open to opinions.

What about the Shure SM57? It's good for both instruments and vocals...I'm trying to save money, but I want a little quality too. What about the AKG D 9000?
This is racking my brain...
Are there any condensors that can record both instruments and vocals? I really do only need one mic...
The MR-8 doesn't have phantom power, that's why I'm trying to find a good dynamic mic. I was just trying to find one microphone that could record both in order to save some money. Besides, it's just going to be me recording 1 track at a time. I will mostly be recording acoustic guitar anyway...
