Nope. Phantom away. If you have a ribbon mic or something of THAT nature, be careful of the phantom power, but for a normal dynamic, you're fine.

Anpther reason for hanging the mic upside down from a boom is to allow for a music stand underneath the mic. That way there's nothing hanging beneath the mic to obstuct the vision of the performer.

From the "not quite in line with the tread, but certainly in line with a post in the thread" category... I bought the Oktava shock mounts for my 012's. They had the aforementioned inserts, but the pisser is that with the inserts OUT, the mounts are WAY too big to screw onto my standard...
