is the Art tube pre amp any good?

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm on a budget. I've used the Presonus BlueTUBE Pre Amp and the Presonus BlueMAX Compressor in a studio before with out any effects added and I was pleased with the way my voice sounded. So I guess I'll get those and patch in my studio reverb effects mod.

you mean I would also need another mic pre amp? I only need one channel for the vocals. Damn this is confusing. :lol:

I know they make a good mic cause I got one. But I still want to get a Shure mic.

I want to record our band live but still want to multi track so we can set levels, pan, add effects etc. to each individual track. Can this be done with M-Audio's Omni Studio?

when i mix down from 4 track tape to pc the quality decreases. Should I be mixing down to tape and then converting (using a special machine like: http://www.tascam.com/products/cd_players/cc222/index.php ) to digital?

yeah it may take some time setting up the levels, eq and panning but once that's done and set all we would have to do is plug in and play.

Maybe the vocals sound better recorded digitally? Or the studio time was an issue. They only had enough time to get some of the instruments down on analog. They would most likely be trying to keep within buget.
