Can you record 6 tracks at once but keep them seperate using Omni Studio?

I want to record our band live but still want to multi track so we can set levels, pan, add effects etc. to each individual track.

Can this be done with M-Audio's Omni Studio?

Yes, it can be done. You would need preamps with analog outputs for channels 3 and 4, and preamps with digital (S/PIDIF) outputs for channels 5 and 6.

Thanks.

The Omni Studio has 2 mic pre-amps with XLR's

Those are used for channels 1 and 2.
So yes, you can get use out of the omni while you're recording the 6 separate tracks but no, you can't do it with just the omni.

you mean I would also need another mic pre amp?

I only need one channel for the vocals. Damn this is confusing.

You'll need a preamp for every microphone you want to plug in. What do you want to send to each of the 6 channels?
