    I'm finally seeing progress!

Not to mention Michael.... my entire studio is about the size of just your control room! :( :D I just had to put up a couple of sticks and put em' up. The rest pretty much IS "dressing up the lady". Also, my "shell" was already built around 50 years ago. I had to do some gutter work...

    I'm finally seeing progress!

This last one is a pic of the left rear corner of the control room. I had a lil' problem thinking this one through as the electical panel is located back there. What I decided to do was to use the corner for a multi-purpose area. The bottom portion (under the horizontal 2x3) will be the house...

    I'm finally seeing progress!

The next pic is of the iso booth. I put the insulation in and started to sheetrock a little bit. It'll mainly be for doing vocals. I plan on putting a some nice colors and cool lighting in there as well. I was toying with the idea of building a music stand that folds into the wall. Here's the pic-

    I'm finally seeing progress!

The next pic is the left wall, which will also look into the live room. The window is 46" wide and 26" tall. It's a standard Viking double paned window that someone special ordered. I bought it because they returned it. I gotta a hell of a deal. There were 5 windows total. I'm going to buy 2...

    I'm finally seeing progress!

Here are some pics of my progress for the studio. I decided that due to room contraints, I was going to complete the control room first so I could get all of the gear out of my house and into the studio. Here are the pics. I could've been much farther along but I'm limited to how much I can pick...

    Speaking go electrical!

Speaking of electrical! I'm in the wiring stage now and I'm wondering how some of you plan your circuits. Is it best to stay 15amp? My thought was to have 1 20 amp circuit for the control room for the monitor's amps and the Mackie power supply. I thought it would be good to do 1 20 amp plug in...

    What about this guitar?

Is this guitar any good? I'm seriously considering buying it. It won't be played a whole lot so I don't want to buy a real expensive guitar. Is this one worth the price. I know by an earlier post that they were $349 but they won't reduce the price. Here's the guitar. Thanks

    And we're off!!!!

I finally found my 703! of all places, it was only a phone call away already in my rolodex. A subsidiary of The Home Depot will special order it for me at $7.48 for a 2" 2x4 peice. The only problem is that the minimum order is ten bundles with 5 pcs eac bundle. If I don't have enough, I'll have...

    Sonar 3 Question

I got it! It did turn out to be the protect function in WMP. This computer though new will not be my music computer. I actually have an identical Dell sitting in a box waiting for the studio to be completed. On that one, I upgrades the RAM to 512. Thanks for the help... RF

    Sonar 3 Question

The file is 6.7mg from a store bought CD. I copied it from a CD using WMP and stored it to my Hard drive. I then tried to imoprt it into cakewalk and then got the dreaded sign. The type of file...............? I'm not sure if WMP will let me choose the format to save it in. Will Sonar only read...

    Sonar 3 Question

Dude..... I just bought a Dell!! But seriously, I have a new Dell running Windows XP. The processor is fast(2.2 gigs I think), 128 megs of ram. I tried to import a file from Windows Media Player and Sonar told me that there's "No more memory". WTF? What did I do wrong? Thanks, RF

Preamp Price point or "Is it good yet"

I completely agree with Blue Bear! when I first bought decent gear, I really had no clue what I was doing. I saw knobs and knew what they did but not what they did in detail. When I listen back to those recordings, I am amazed at the sonic quality that was achieved. That's due in part because...

    And we're off!!!!

Damn Michael.... that's some intense framing. I'm happy that mine is not as ellaborate! ;) Your studio is gonna be great when it's finished. I can already tell by just what I've seen so far in combination with you attention to detail. John
