I have a pair and I have never had to do anything with the battery, I normally run off phantom power.

I used to use the insert points on my Peavey to run its pres with a MOTU 828. Worked well.

Had a bunch of smaller Marshall hybrids over the years and finally took the plunge and got me a TSL100. It sits on top of a 1960A 4 x 12" and is just sexy !! I love it !!

you could try some of the "oxy" type cleaners though it may change the color of the wood. You might want to try it on a bit of scrap first and don't leave it on too long ! Or, you could use a stain and make the whole neck darker.

The pres on the XDs are supposed to be better than the pres on the D1600 However, it is worth mentioning that the XD series have been discontinued by Korg. It is a huge bummer. Korg will still honer warrantees and offer support and that said the quality of the existing XDs is still the same...

used to have a MG15 MSII microstack (2 x 10" speakers) and was really cool for what is was!

I've used them on backing vocals (bongos and piano (worked very well)) and thought they were OK. Im not sure I'd trust them for the lead vox though !

I used one on a flute last weekend and it sounded great ! I don't like it on my voice however that doesn't mean it is a bad vocal mic. Like other folks have said, it has "character" which means it will shine on some voices and sound like crap on others !
