    behringer sucks?

Well someone had to say if first. I hear it too much on this bbs. Other place I go folks swear by it. I like my Behringer gear. I own amps from the 1970s. My guitars, for the most part are old. I've heard some songs by a few excellent musicians here on this site that were recorded on tape...

    behringer sucks?

I think it has something to do with the herd instinct, freeztar. Some guy says it, cuz he has a new shinny $400 piece of equipment, and of course, it sounds better. But the same guy probably drives a Dodge Omni. I have a Mercedes, but have never owned a Dodge. So I can't say, "Dodge Sucks"...

    My guitar stinks!!!

There is stuff you can buy to clean your insturment of odor. They also have foo-foo spray you can use to make your life long partner smell nice. I've never used either but I see it in the music stores.

    Acoutsic & Vocals

I have all of Robert Johnsons music, some on 78s. Taking the recording equipment of the day into concideration, I think it sounds pretty good. I've heard other homerecorders say they did it and it sounded good so I'm still going to give it a whirl. Thanks.

    Acoutsic & Vocals

eeldip, Ahh, I see. I was going to try recording both together then I reread Chess' post after I posted. Yes, I understand the phasing problem now. I didn't think of that earlier. I use to record on computer but I don't own a computer anymore. I'm at my folks right now using theirs. I'm...

    Acoutsic & Vocals

Thanks Tex. I'm gonna give it a try when I get home. Chess. I've thought about doing it one track at a time, but I've heard some very well recorded songs that people have done in one take. It's just that I want to do one song like that. For experience for one thing. Besides, I'm doing all my...

    small portable recording setup

I have a Fostex MR-8 that I use for that and other things when I'm away from my shack. It's easy to use, and is fairly versatile. Comes with a burner tool. Or a cassette recorder. Wish I could be of more help.

    Acoutsic & Vocals

Thanks eeldip. I'll do it this way. It's what I've been pondering over for the past couple days. No, I'm really not gonna loose any cookies over any bleeding. I just wanted some other advice than what I've been getting around my local contacts here where I live. I appreciate your help.

    Acoutsic & Vocals

I'm getting ready to record my J-30 and vocals at the same time. I've heard other guys do it and it sounds good. But then I read other places that the bleeding, I think that's the term, from vocals onto the guitar track makes for a 'not so real sound'. What ever that is. Here's my set up...

    Compression Settings for my bass

Thanks Grinder. That helps with one of the problems I had. I fiddled and fiddled and finally got the track to sound right, but I don't know if I really did it correctly. What I'll do is redo the track and give a comparitive listen. I appreciate your help.

    Masterlink

I've scoured the posts in this thread but haven't found where anyone answered AEL's question. I haven't used Masterlink yet, as I'm still recording. But in the next few days I want to jump on to this machine and use it to burn four songs I have finished. My question, along with the nine...

    Compression Settings for my bass

Grinder. The ratio is cool. But, where would one begin with the threshold settings, as a rule of thumb?

    Silver 1176

The original 1176 emerged in 1966 built as a remotely controlled amplifier around the newly invented Field Effect Transistor (FET) and as a successor to the 108 amplifier, the transistorized 1108 mic preamplifier. For minimal distortion, FETs require careful circuit design so that they operate...

    Country or Folk?

My problem is I like all music, but during different times. Depending on what mood I'm in. I like both, sometimes.
