"Randian Funk Cowboy" - synth hop country funk

Hell yeah! Are the lyrics making fun of Ayn Rand or endorsing her? Hmmm....you be the judge ;-) I'm going for "wall of sound" on this mix. Yes that chorus is wet indeed, but stylistically meant to evoke the feeling of a "god" coming down through the sky...like a man who finds newfound...

    Honey Hunters - Rockets

How on earth are those programmed VST drums? lol. What VST are you using, what kit? And how are you treating that in post? EQ, compression?

mixing advice on my neo-psychedelic art funk trip hop track?

This is really awesome. Love that hot bass line, real nice groove and fits the drum pocket nice. I might give the bass a slight 80hz boost as it sounds slightly toppy, but honestly not that bad. The funk guitar chords are very nice too. Vocals are raw and honest, nice melody. I might wetten...

    Honey Hunters - Rockets

Love this guitar work. Nice tone and well played rock feel. Bass and drums feel good. Those surely must be real drums - did you record those? The vocals are good and absolutely passable, but I might add some overdubs on the transitions and other moments for emphasis i.e. "wave this place...

    10,000 Hrs...

That's awesome. Sounds great. The samples sound amazing. Did you apply much EQ or fx in post, or are these all original sounding samples?

    10,000 Hrs...

This is awesome dude. Really smooth groove and great flow. Lots of nuances with the subtle guitar and keyboard/piano flourishes. Impressive gear too. Looks like you are pretty serious about recording. This does not sound like the work of an amateur. How much did you sample? Do you do music full...

"Building 89" - Dark blues instrumental

Yes, the Floyd influence is definitely there. Kind of a three-way blend of Welcome to the Machine, The Great Gig In The Sky, and Breathe.

    Escape 'til Sunrise (Soundtrack Medley)

Gorgeous Rhodes keyboard washes.- definitely the strongest part of the song The sax solo needs way more power around 2:00. The wah guitar fills are played well, but could use some wettening (delay perhaps). This track demands a vocal.

Outcast Fresh ears wanted on the mix before mastering and release

Not a bad mix at all. Would just add some reverb and/or room air to the drums and vocals. Rad guitar sounds, good mids. The vocal performance is awesome. Might add some more harmonies to make it slightly more glorious.

Covid Quarantine Cover - David Bowie's Kooks

This is awesome man. Guitar and piano sound great...lighthearted monkees pop vibe. I would ditch the synth brass around 1:30 and replace with something less corny.

"Wild And Alive" - dreamy synth/acoustic ballad

Thanks guys for the listens so far. I hear you on the dominant synths - but I really really want this to be an otherworldly synth-driven track.

    World's Goin' Down" - acoustic/electric rocker

6 years of nonstop professional gigging - wow! That's quite impressive. So you perform all the instruments AND play your own drums on these Bat's Brew records? Curious to know how you're recording your guitars. Are you using real gear or DI VST plugins? Do you use multiple mic placements for...

    Fire in the Hole

Overall very good. Really nothing to critique. The snare/kick need to sound slightly bigger. Might consider some reverb or room mic'ing or something to give them slightly more ambiance - but overall good and totally passable. This is your FIRST song you mixed ever - or for this particular band?

    World's Goin' Down" - acoustic/electric rocker

Incredible work. Was this professionally mixed? Do you guys do music full time? There's something revealing about how a band as kickass and talented as you guys only have like 250 followers on SC, and mumble rappers with fake instruments and samples get millions of streams daily. Truly a...

    It hurts

Very cool and original idea here. Many points for originality. I honestly think it works as a kind of lighthearted, cheeky and ironic song. A lot of stiff melodies and rhythms - but again, that's the uplifting vibe I think you're going for. I personally might throw in some smoother, flowing...

    "Lightspeed"

Incredibly well produced. Was this mixed/recorded professionally? Might consider some light reverb to fatten the lead vocal - but totally optional. Bass seems slightly loud in the mix. Great performances all around. How are you getting that guitar tone? VST plugin?
