    muscians Ha!Ha! You guys know what I'm talkin about. when I give them a good idea, I have to make them think it was theirs. Like I told them it's okay to record live but dont crank up the vol. until I lose control of the recording! But at 16 is there any hope? Advice?

    sound treatment I have some 4x8 x23/4" sheets of stryfoam. Could I use these as sound baffels to baffel a drum kit or amps?

    does temperature matter?

    temperature c7sus, I have a dehumidifier set on medium in the studio. The hum. reading usually stayed in the mid forties. In summer it runs frequently when the window unit air cond. is not on.

    temperature I keep my home studio at around 50 deg.f in the winter when not in use. It is usually around 70 while in use. Is 50 too cold to leave it?

    Fender Bass amp The Fender amp is a Bassman 2 channel tube amp. I picked it up at a junk store for 100. Works great but looks road-weary.     Please help me defrost my nuts

    cold nuts I use an oil filled electric heater in my studio 20'x14' . when I get the guyes together in there it runs us out with heat. If you have halogen lights w/heat from your amps etc. you wont have a problem.

    no reverb

    are you plugging guitar into amp first, or are you plugging guitar into input on 424 and then trying to use the effects loop on 424? In your 424 manual it shows how to run effects loop from 424 to amp to get reverb effect.I had to connect the mono send and stereo send on my amp to mono/stereo...

    radiator + sheetrock = fire?

    sheetrock Mt experience with sheet rock in the past tells me that your hotwater radiator wont ignite the paper on your drywall. It is gupsum board and a good flame retardant. Used as firebreaks in apartments and such. Even painted with latex paint I thing you are perfectly safe.

    Thanks guys for the info, think Ill try the twin mike idea first and see what I get but the double track direct idea sounds intresting also. Maybe one track of each then mix together?

    best guitar sound

    I am recording on a tascam mk11, what do you guys think sounds best. Record direct to line in on recorder,use mono send from amp to recorder or set up mike and record to tascam. I think direct sounds too thin and tinny?

    Is it better to plug the mics into the xlr or the 1/4" inputs of the 424mkIII? (help

    tascam 424 inputs I thought the xlr were mike level and 1/4 were line level.
