It is the latency of the card. I use Kristal with ASIO drivers and set the latency on the card for 2 ms. Since you can't set the latency on MME drivers in Kristal, the only option is to allign it manually. To not do this you could possibly get a better sound card, possibly a M-Audio 24/96 PCI...

I had the CAD pro 4-piece for a while until I sold it. It's a decent set, definitely worth the money. The premium pack can only be better I guess.

If you are going to use the Holy Grail live, the background noise isn't really a problem but if you are going to be using it for recording, the hiss is always there. You can usual noise gate some of it out though.

If you are looking for big tone, the Mapex Pro M series has some big sets. Also, the Pearl ELX 6-peice fusion set might be decent. It has a 16 inch tom as well as a 14 so it might be a little deeper. I know a guy who plays this set and is extremely pleased at the low warm tones he can get...

Ebay is looking at about 1000 now for average price on a 4 string right handed used. One's with the Ernie Ball logo are going for less.
