There is a new indie rock band reigning from the desert of mesa, az. They are only 16 years old, but will blow you away. They are called Cowboy the Indian. Their Ep entitled Suppa' Time With Cowboy the Indian has a real old western feel to it and will be for sale on the 10th! They have put 2 songs off of their new cd on their myspace, so check it out!

Add them! Buy Their CD! You can also buy their CD through me, so if you want one leave me reply. We have a paypal account. They are 5 dollars shipped.

i'll sell you guys the same cd for $3!! just drop off some cash in the paypal account..

Why do you call yourself indie? In my experience, a band that calls themselves "indie" is usually either playing retro faux British pop rock (a la Franz Ferdinand) or a just plain terrible band. Most of the independent musicians I've heard who call themselves "indie" either can't play, can't record, or some combination of the two.

I haven't listened to your music, so I don't know which of these (if either) applies to you. I'm just saying it might.

Unless you're playing the genre "indie," being an independent musician doesn't need to be listed as part of your description.

where's the "real old western feel"?

i want my money back

not bad for 16 but blow me away it did not. The recording is pretty shitty and the song writing is well... needs some work. Keep trying though.

"Old west feel"? someone has been smoking crack.

Blown away? uh, no.

No offense but they sound like what they are - 16 year old kids playing in a band. They are not bad, but definitely not good enough to be spammed everywhere.

I've got an idea: Why don't I buy the CD and then I'll upload the tracks with links on here so everyone can have the album for free? Then we all get to share in this wonderful experience!

Let me know who's interested.

;)

Look, this isn't bad for a bunch of 16 year olds. It's got all the indie genre conventions down: passionless, meandering, self-consciously wordy vocals, deliberately murky production, no real hooks... Not really my style of music, but I applaud anyone willing to create their own entertainment, rather than just settling for whatever's handed to them.

But... when you try to promote your fledgling little high school indie band with such ridiculously inappropriate words as "reigning" and "will blow you away", you just sound like a bunch of fucking clueless dicks.

I bet myself five bucks that the link in your sig would lead to a myspace indie band page. Now I owe myself five bucks.

i disagree, in my experience plenty of indie bands are excellent. take for example "the arcade fire". they consider themselves indie, and yet they manange to both play very well and have interesting recording techniques that i look up to. but i'm not a fan of the "polished" sound.

does indie come from the word 'independent'? Does anyone else realize this person that started the thread only created an account to spam? Just wondering why the thread hasn't succumb to the oblivion yet.

So I've actually listened to some of the songs now. It's not too bad. Kind of like a mediocre Jethro Tull sans flute. Nobody really makes great recordings at 16, but if you keep working at it you could probably be decent in a few years. Best of luck.

Just remember to be careful how you market yourself, or you will get flamed by self-righteous jerks like me.

Good for 16, not like the usual crap you hear these days from bands about this same age.

Not that great either, I don't mind listening to it, but I wouldn't buy the CD.

I like The Shins too.

And about the band, you guys are okay. Not bad but not spectacular. Not near what I expected from your description. Not sure I'd pay for it.....

i'm fucking 15. my band. granted it's a myspace. sorry.

not to mention the guitar player is no bueno. you mess up your own riff on that second song. the lo-fi ness is far too much. it sounds like a shitty version of the velvet underground on a 30 year old reel to reel.
