I can't get that great tone for lead!

Tube amp with overdrive and maybe a stompbox, I personally like the Marshall stompbox line. Use compression too, it'll give your tone bite.

    Problem with Humbucker Pickups

My Telecaster Deluxe hums really loudly. This started when the jack fell out and it smashed the hard ground. I was told by a friend it was the jack and I replaced it but it still didn't work. The humming is so loud the guitar cannot be made out. My uncle said to put tape around the sautering...

Is there any behringer gear that is "good"?

All Behringer gear is worth what you pay for....but they are usually cheap and that means lower quality.

    Second level bassgear?

Hmmmm..... Ampeg's are great but aren't cheap. You should look into some Ashdowns. They're affordable and good.

    Modeler Help Me Decide

You should check out the PODxt or xtLive which has a lot of features and capabilities as well as decent sounding models. In my experience Line 6 has the best models out of any other company. They have AIR Mode which make the models sound so much better when recording. They really got the...

Keyboard - What should I buy?

This one has some great sounds and is altogether a pretty cheap and nice keyboard. It's be my only suggestion for that budget and if you can get over the size (you probably won't need all those keys for a bass which only has 2 octaves) it would be great.

    Want to record, help?

For a mic I'd recommend a Shure SM57 or SM58. It depends what you prefer really and both are very good. For A mixer I'd suggest a Alesis MultiMix 12 FireWire which allows you to record directly into your computer and it comes with Cubase LE which would probably work for what you need. Not only...

    These babies

The one in the middle I'd buy but I'm not into the over the top designs like the other two.

    Why bother micing toms ?

It allows you to have more control and you can get a better sound out of the toms. It allows you to alter the toms without the cymbals being affected. In my opinion if you have a lot of mics you shlould mic everything seperately.

Trouble with Drum Over heads, toms louder than Cymbals

Hmmmm....... Can you mic you put another mic on the cymbal? That could help. Maybe you can mute the toms a bit. Or you can cut the low frequency and that might work.

    New Bass

I've played that bass and it isn't that great. The action is terrible and the tone pick-ups aren't great even though they are active. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ibanez-SR300DX-Soundgear-Bass-Guitar-?sku=519506 I have that Ibanez and it is quite good and it has much better...

    best distortion pedal for recording

I'm not sure. My band doesn't play metal but for the heavily distorted stuff I use a Marshall Guv'Nor or a Boss DS-2. If you use EQ and mic your amp effectively you can get a really heavy sound with either of those.

Fender Rumbles are good but it really depends how much you wanna spend

    New Bass

I've played many ibanez basses and they're pretty good but I'd go for the ESP. I haven't played it but I've played the Viper Bass and it was incredible and ESP makes good affordable basses and guitars and the LTD line is handmade.
