Has anyone tried the Pocketstudio? I never use my 424 mkII, because cassettes are a pain and are almost obsolete. Would the Pocketstudio be a decent replacement? (I'm planning to set up my computer for recording, but I'd like to have the Pocketstudio also for the portability.)
Ok, I bought a Barber Direct Drive OD pedal, and it has the perfect tone for most of my playing. It sounds ultra smooth and has about as much gain as my Marshall JCM 900. Sometimes I need a little more gain though. For instance, when I play the Bon Jovi "Wanted Dead or Alive" solo, I need an...
Marc Seal has a new show on GuitarSchool.net. When I found out, I was, as Marc would say, "totally stoked"!
Anyway, Marc's a great guitar teacher, so check it out.

(I originally posted this in the Rack forum, but somebody said I should post over here. Maybe a mod can delete whichever thread is in the wrong spot.)
Ok, here's the deal. I haven't used distortion pedals in years, so I'm out of touch. I used to play really loud plugged straight into a...
Ok, here's the deal. I haven't used distortion pedals in years, so I'm out of touch. I used to play really loud plugged straight into a Marshall, and then for the past several years I've played at lower volumes running a POD into my practice amp. I've started jamming a lot more lately, and I...
What do y'all think?
Should I get a Boss GT-6 or should I just get a floor board for my POD? I love the POD, but the GT-6 looks more versatile.
Does the GT-6 have all the Boss pedals onboard?
Does the POD floor board have a better way of changing effect parameters besides using the tap tempo?
What exactly is a MIDI sound module? Is it some kind of converter that the computer uses to play music? If so, why couldn't the software play music as wav. or MP3 files?
Also, how much would a sound module cost?
Slash! I was about ready to throw my Mel Bay book and guitar away when "Appetite" came out. Slash made me want to grow out my hair and ROCK. (I did throw out the Mel Bay book.)
Also, Ty Tabor of King's X. Although, that may be more early 90's than 80's.
I also still love (don't laugh) 80's...
Go with the POD. I have a JCM 900 Marshall Combo and Marshall Plexi, that I hardly ever use anymore. The POD is just so much more convenient. The POD doesn't sound quite as good as a real amp, but it's pretty close. Unless you're a tube purist, you'd never know the difference. Plus, the POD...
I posted a question about the JS-5 in the "RACK" section but haven't gotten any replies. (Maybe I posted it in the wrong place.)
Anyway, I was wondering how it compares to the Dr. Rhythm Section (is that the DR-5?) which is much cheaper than the JS-5. What I'm basically after is a good...
