Another "which pedal" thread

Ok, I bought a Barber Direct Drive OD pedal, and it has the perfect tone for most of my playing. It sounds ultra smooth and has about as much gain as my Marshall JCM 900. Sometimes I need a little more gain though. For instance, when I play the Bon Jovi "Wanted Dead or Alive" solo, I need an articulate, heavy, harmonically rich distortion. The Marshall's drive channel and the Direct Drive just don't quite get it. What pedal, processor, etc.. would y'all suggest? (I already have a POD, but the Marshall colors the POD's tone too much and makes it sound like crap.)
 
maybe try a compressor pedal. that will definitely help with those richie sambora pinch harmonics.

I'll have to try that. I didn't know compressors added harmonics. I always thought they just evened out your volume.
