I've always thought Hey Jude to be the perfect song, even though it isn't my favourite.
Which is a bit odd.
Also - Someone to watch over me - George Gershwin. Hey, I might try and do a punky version of that.
I tried using the search facility, but it's down for some reason.
I use an SM58 (of course) for my live vox in my band, but I find it very boomy. I remember seeing a thread here before about some possible alternatives.
Anyone got any ideas about a reasonably priced live mic that may be less...
OK, I got it figured, although it does sound like there's a kind of chorus effect on my voice through the headphones, but it records without this strange effect.
Hi. I just got my Firebox today. I'm testing it with SX3 and I can't get to be able to monitor through headphones while recording. I went into SX3 to check the direct monitoring button, but this is greyed out.
Anyone have any ideas ?
Thanks
He's not going to get down there ! One of the songs is in C and he needs it shifting to F - 5 semitones. I guess I could record a single acoustic track in F, get him to sing to that, then pitch shift his voice down to C, but I know it's going to sound like shit.
I don't think I'll bother. Mind...
Chessrock - I'm taking a wild stab in the dark here - I'm guessing you're saying Melodyne won't work satisfactorily.
I wrote and recorded these songs for me, in the key I can sing. Not to play in the band, but just for my own fun. Now the singer in my band wants to record them, and being a lazy...
Hi Fellas
I've recorded a few songs in the keys to suit my voice. The singer in my band now wants to record the vox, but of course he wants all the songs in a different key. If they were just one or two guitar parts and a bass, I would re-record them in the required key, but some of them are...
Thanks very much for your detailed reply. I'm on a budget so saving £100 is worthwhile. One last question - I've just ordered an AT3035 from e-bay, and I'm also considering an sm7. Do you know if the Tascam would provide enough gain for the sm7 ?
Glen - would you think that unit was better than the Firebox ? I was thinking of buying the Firebox, but this is about half the price, so I may look at this.
Well I had to listen to 'Sounds' after mjr said it had a Norwegian Wood feel to it.
Seems to me that you must be the lovechild of John Lennon and Paul Simon, which makes you pretty damn fine in my eyes.
Good stuff.
Hi Telepaul. This is probably an inefficient way of freeing up ram, but what I have done is convert the midi track to an audio track ie export only the midi track as an audio file, then reimport it into cubase.
That way, you are not using the VST anymore.
And let me add that MIDI is fantastic !!!!!!!!! I've only been recording for about a year, and I've stayed well clear of MIDI because I thought it would be very technical and a steep learning curve. I've tended to record my keys direct as an audio recording.
Last week I took the plunge and...
Hi guys
I've just bought EZ Drummer and am surprised by the lack of intros and outros. Do people normally just edit the beats to create their own, create their own from scratch, or does anyone know of somewhere that you can buy intros and outros ? Better still, is there anywhere where people...
Sorry to hijack your thread, but this is for danny guitar. Danny, I just bought EZ Drummer and I'm surprised at the lack of intros and outros. What do you generally do about this ? I suppose the choice is to program them yourself from scratch, or edit a fill or a measure, but I wondered if...
