the soundcard is an ESS Allegro. Came w/ my Compaq Presario computer.

I have cakewalk express gold and for some reason, I can't listen to my already recorded tracks while trying to record a new track. Seems like it should be pretty easy but I can't seem to figure it out. Help

turn off the 2 trk. to mix button and turn on the 2 trk to ctrl room button and use headphones plugged into the mx 602 and phones/ control room volume knob.

most of this stuff was recorded and mixed using junk realistic speakers, so this might have a lot to do with what you hear. I tried to doctor it up some when I got my roland rsm 90s speakers but at that point i didn't have the ability to remix so i just messed with eq and compression a little...

honestly, I'm pretty clueless as to mic placement:(
