    V-amp 2

I've been using the V-amp 2 for some time now and I have to say I like it a lot. Try the software that can be downloaded for free. It's really handy to be able to store your presets to your hard disk or to tweak the settings on your screen (+ it's really cool to see those lights on your V-amp...

I couldn't stream it and downloading would take me over 1 hour with broadband..?

    Trash my songs please

Listened to 'the only thing' I hate to rain on your parade here, but the quality of the recording is really bad. There's a lot of hiss. The guitar and especially the flute are really dull IMO. Your voice sounds a little like Billy Corgan's I think, that's cool. Those harmony parts are way off...

My own take on "Hungry Like The Wolf", feedback please?

I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else, those drums are just aweful. The guitar makes me nervous, I can't really tell why :|. You've got some potential though, but start out with different drums..

    Opinions on this stuff?

I also listened to 'These are the days'. Nice song. Drums are a little thin. Snare and kick should be more upfront. Vocals don't sit well in the mix as gmiller1122 said. Add a little more low end, bass.. Nothing that some more mixing could fix. Overall a nice job though.

    The Cure cover remix

Thanks for listening Bear, yeah the drums were made in Fruity Loops and I know the vocals aren't all that great, especially when you're expecting Robert Smith to come in.... :) I'll send you to song, I'm sure you'll do a better job then me. :D I take it you do not need the seperate tracks? Is an...

    The Cure cover remix

I posted this one before but some of you told me the major issues. So I retracked some guitar parts and remixed the whole thing all over. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out (thanks to those who helped). I like to stay pretty close to the original. Too bad my voice isn't quite up to it...

How do you guys add drums, bass, keys to your guitar tracks?

Definitely lay the drums down first as joro said. I'd also suggest using a real bass guitar. Since you already play guitar, the basslines you'll come up with will certainly be as good as any programmed bass. For drums I myself use Fruit Loops. It takes some time to get good at it but with some...

    decent yet affordable vocal preamp?

I wanna buy a good vocal preamp. It doesn't have to be the absolute best (read most expensive) one, but I'd rather pay a few bucks more then end up with a piece of crap. Any suggestions?

    Fruityloops question

Nah, exporting as a wav and importing again IS the way to do it. Make sure you set the bpm’s the same so you can edit the drumtrack. If you want separate tracks for kick, snare etc. you’re gonna have to export them as separate wavs of course.

    need help

Proper software for recording? Mmm.. I'd say Cubase, then again, for a neutral point of view maybe you shouldn't have come to a Cubase user forum.. I'd suggest you try/search the Newbie section to get some more diverse answers.. ;)

"Real" drum sounds without a drum kit

Fruity Loops Many people wrongly think that Fruity Loops can only be used to create electronic music, wile in fact you can make very good sounding rockdrums with it. It takes some time to get to know the program and some practice and skill, but when you get the hang of it, it can sound pretty...

audioslave cover, my best mix yet

Re: :) The drums are actually pretty much the same as in the original. Thanks for listening I know the guitarpart before the vocals come in doesn't quite sound like it should. I realise now that I should've played Am instead of Asus. Oh well :d As for the vocals I'm afraid that is the best...

audioslave cover, my best mix yet

I posted this one before but without the vocals. I finally added them and finished the whole song. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I might have to bring those vocals down a bit. I also added the intro which is done on guitar! I finally figured out how Tom Morello did that. Any...

    1st band recording

First thing that sticks out is that everything seems to go through the middle. Some panning should help as tmix pointed out. Maybe try doubling the rhytm guitar and pan it hard left and right to create some space for the rest in the middle. Those drumsounds could do with some reverb to sit...

3 catchy tunes from my newest CD

I listened to 'So Cruel'. It sure has an 80's feel to it. Everything sounds very clear, I like that. You've got a good voice. Decent mix and performance. Not really my style though but a nice job.

first time recording an other band - help with the mix please

A friend of mine is in a good rockband. They recorded a demo a in a studio, paid a lot of money for it, but the quality was pretty poor so they weren't happy with it. Now they wanna do it themselves so I offered my help, I actually have never worked with someone else's stuff. They brought me...

    GOOD Behringer Gear

I own a behringer V-amp2, which in my opinion sounds even better then the three times more expensive POD, especially when it comes to the cleaner sounds. Main flaws are that it doesn't always seem to remember the presets I add which can be really annoying, and it has no on-off button! Besides...
