Thought i'd also add that the two guitars in the chorus which sound louder at -18- are slightly overdriven with no reverb.
The two guitars in the verse that also sit at -18 but sound much quieter in the overall mix are cleaner sounds with quite an airy reverb on both of them in case this might...
They are Jabra evolve headphones that use a dongle that I plug into my PC USB.
I only see an output for wired headsets on my Scarlett solo.
Just gonna invest in decent wired headset.
Cheers.
I am having a little trouble with my levels/balance.
I have two guitars panned far left and right in the chorus, I have both these guitars sounding right with the rest of my song and they both sit around -18-.
These guitar parts only play in the chorus and I have two other guitar parts that...
Hi everyone,
Giving grouping a go for the first time to see if it helps with my balancing/levelling as I just can't seem to get it right going track by track.
I'm hoping to get the guitars sitting right together... then the drum section sitting right together separately then bring either...
I think this may be the issue then, I shall just get myself a better set of cans for using my Focusrite the only reason I was using the direct sound was because of the wifi headset which is better all round and also more convenient than wired.
Thanks everyone for input, will let you all know...
Hi sorry for the late reply.
No the mouse isn't introducing latency, was just mentioning that I planned on using my mouse to click the drums required rather than hooking my electronic kit up to play.
There is just delay when hitting any of the kit.
I use the focusrite when recording parts but...
Hi everyone,
Normally I just record any drum parts on my electric drumkit but due to the lack of variation decided to give AD a go.
I decided today to just add some percussion to a song I've almost completed, was just going to tap the required cymbal using the AD popup when selected while the...
Thanks is this a normal request or do most players not try to have an overall equal sound output ? Also would putting the compressor just before all the OD/Distortion have a similar result If I just compress the clean tone then all the Od/Distortions are getting are a level clean tone coming...
Thanks so removing the plate or lifting it up enough to slide some tin foil might do the trick ? the noise is evident whilst playing as it comes through the amp not so noticeable when playing full chords with od but when muted on clean tone its very noticeable.
Strangest thing I've only began to notice.
I only managed to figure it out tonight as I thought it was related to the pickups and only an issue when strumming the strings.
However without strumming or touching a string I noticed i can make the same crackling noise just by touching a certain...
I bought myself this https://www.thomann.de/gb/valeton_dapper_indie.htm as I thought its going to be the simplest way to achieve what I'm looking to do but getting nowhere and hoping someone cant point me in the right direction.
Right now I'm not plugging into an amp but just using it with...
I have a cracking set of wireless headphones and would love to use them instead of having my wired ones hooked up to the audio interface for playback.
So far I'm set up like this.
Guitar > Fx pedal > Scarlett Solo AI (usb connection ) > PC > Bluetooth wireless headset.
Problem i'm having is...
So here is two mixes of one of the songs im trying to get right but just sounds like one big fuzzy noise i think mix 2 is getting closer but maybe you can say whether 1 or 2 is closer to being right sounding.
Just read your pm ill also get to work on sending it over for you to work some magic...
I forgot to mention with earphones on when levelling one instrument next to another i can hear a point where they compliment in terms of frequency if i was to go above this point then they would clash however this method doesnt work because usually the point they compliment each other and i stop...
I am using reaper and all my inputs are direct, so straight into my audio interface.
Guitar> interface > amp/fx plugin > reaper record.
Bass > interface > amp/FX plugin > reaper record.
Drum pad > interface > reaper record.
So if im reading this right you plan for how you need the guitar to...
That would be amazing in bold!
Yeah this is usually how i work it... i bring the drums up to a decent level, then bass making sure to not over power the kick drum... ill admit i never do vocals until ive gotten the whole backing track sorted maybe this is where im going wrong ?
As for the...
hey thanks for the reply, yes i understand there is never going to be a set rule because every instrument will sound slightly different, how its played and tone etc... so just copying someone elses inputs would wield different results unless my track was identical to theirs in every way... so...
This is how i believed the technique was used... as you mention a thin band and sweep to listen for loud ear destroying noise then cut said frequency... but ive also seen videos of people doing the same thing but when they find that booming frequency they dont cut it but boost it .... obviously...
