    SP B1 again.

call it whatever you like, but i didn't like the sound. we substituted a pair of mc 012s and things turned out much better. the way i see it is, if it takes me all day to place microphone B for a decent sound, but it only takes me 10 minutes to place microphone C for a decent sound, i'm going...

i got a chance to use a pair of b1s on acoustic guitar last night. very disappointed. the sound was unnatural and undefined.

    Interesting Mic controversy

noisedude, in american libel suits, *malice has to be proven. it's not enough to say something untrue, you have to say something untrue with the malicious intent to injure. i don't know how it works in the uk.

Which is better? Shure SM58 or Behringer B5?

58 is built better and sounds better than the b5. test them out and see for yourself. there's no such thing as a better mic? well..... when one consistently outperforms another, i consider it better.

    done with computers

well, maybe a 2-track. i asked about them before and found some really cheap ones that look good. i'm not opposed to mixing to cassette. i'm really just making music for myself

    done with computers

    done with computers

holy shit, really?..... then this is looking better than i thought. so you guys are both saying 8 track which sounds fine to me because i almost had enough space with my 4-track. i have wasted so much time. i guess you have to use computers for a couple years before you get how crappy they are...

    done with computers

hey................. i'm completely sick of the problems with computer recording and i want to go all analog........ i want to spend maybe $1000 after i sell my computer and everything else. i have pretty good microphones, so can you please recomend how i break into a decent analog situation...

    recording vsti output

thanks tangerine, but that's not what i want to do. i found a solution using audition as a rewire host. no plugs or soundcard manipulation required.

    recording vsti output

thanks for responding, but that's not quite what i meant...... i want to record the vst instrument *on the fly* in cooledit. i'd be playing FROM fruityloops, but recording TO cooledit, live. it's a usb keyboard, but there's also a standard midi jack.... if i set the record source to that midi...

    recording vsti output

hi...... is there a way to record the output of a vst instrument while listening to something else? fer instance.... i'd like to open a vst instrument in fruityloops, and record it's output into cooledit, while listening to a bassline in cooledit. (but i only want to record the isolated vsti...

    Interesting Mic controversy

Home-made analog cassette tape delay project

dr. zee, that's really, really cool despite the eternal buzzkill syndrome around here. i wish i could do stuff like that

    Interesting Mic controversy

falken, i don't care what either of those mics sound like. my point is that it's a buyer's responsibility to be informed. the buyer must know what he's buying and if it's available elsewhere for much less money. the seller's only responibility is to feed his inbred kids. buyer beware. buyer be...

    Interesting Mic controversy

......so it's telefunken's fault that you haven't a/b'ed them? oh okay i get it now

    Interesting Mic controversy

i agree with scrubs. there's no moral dilemma here. you can charge as much as you want for a product. it's the buyer's responsibility to know if he's getting a good deal. buyer beware.

    Blue Sky

i'm gonna go out on a limb and say your vocal / guitar mic was either a sp c1 or something similar. whatever it was, it's ruining your great music
