I have been working on putting my vinyl on cd using pro tools. If you have an RCA out on your amp that will work. I have been using an old vintage player and a mic. With a little eq it keeps that perfect vinyl sound.
And like Benny said, anythings possible in this prorgram. Make sure to check...
One thing I have to add is -
Never walk into guitar center and ask for suggestions on big purchases. Not that every Guitar Center is an idiot, but a lot of them have no idea what the hell is going on. They make commission on stuff they don't know much about. Just thought I would offer that...
Have you exhausted all of your recources? Someone could get pro tools running for you. It is a complicated program that is very hard to set up, but once you got it running you would be glad you didn't trade. The software is the best part, the digi is just the interface.
Go to a local blues jam. The blues and gospel singers go together like.... well something really good. If you are in Chicago, it souldn't be hard to find a good blues or jazz club. By the way, if you want to find real musicians, stay away from the karaoke. Good luck!
I just bought a brand new hot rod deluxe. Played on it a bit and I like the sound, but after a visit to torres engineering I have deided to do a few mods. How important do you think it is to get a better speaker? Thinking a Jensen.
sorry a bit off topic but what the hell
I am sorry? Look, I don't really agree with the angry tone on this thread, but what the hell are you talking about? Is this the official terminology of the hip hop industry? I must have forgot that good music takes both grooves and beats -sheesh
I know a few folks who like to mix on old speakers. If your mixes are sounding good then run with it. It is really about how good you are on the monitors you are familiar with.
If you are looking for something with a good live drum sound, you should check out some of Roland's rack midi gear. You could get a synth, a sequencer, and a midi controller all for about the same amount.
Also a word from Ben Harper-
"My choice is what I choose to do and if I'm causing no harm...
This thread blows. I think if they were both alive they'd probably be pretty good friends. They wouldn't sit around and argue about who is better or more creative or bla bla bla. There are too many things to appreciate from both of these men to just simply state who you think is better. Thats a...
ahh, the strat pack....
I got a squier strat pack for Christmas when I was around 15. I loved it! My first real guitar. Anyway, I agree with Mikeh on some things but if you want to learn all you need to do is watch the video that comes with it and get a chord book. Yes lessons will help you...
Yes, I do agree with what you are saying, bbuuuuuuuttt!
We have only tapped the surface of the ease and convenience of mp3. It won't be too long before we can download our favorite song of the night before we leave the show. The comsumer will gain more control over popular music. It's already...
I thinkk you should look at a small four track of some kind.

Here's a link to musicians friend. These are the best and most affordable way to get started recording.
Welcome to the board! Man, if you are just buying your first guitar then I would start there. It should be a while before you are ready to record or play with a band. Find someone you know who plays guitar and get them to teach you a few things. It a long, FUN road to where you are going just...
