    Roll With The Punches

Yeah man, that was nice. Great sound - nice and mellow. You recorded that acoustic with the C1? Did you track with the compressor? That sounds pretty good too. Nice recording.

    Mixing/mastering online service????

3 tracks, period. With effects stereo panning, etc. Not much fun for me. There's nothing much to do. The finished product, in my opinion, would be unfinished. This song needs a melody or something.

    Mixing/mastering online service????

Yup, can't wait for this. :D When Chris did this a few months ago, lots of people had a blast. The judging was probably more by popular vote, but the good mixes were obvious.

    fanfare

Interesting piece. To answer the question, I myself don't think the guitars are too loud. I think any changes in level from here could only be based purely on artistic point of view. Cool

Had a few beers and picked up the acoustic

Once again, the quality of your recording is great. The hand claps work, but I was thinking finger snapping myself. I just think it would have a more intimate feel, IMHO. I though you could have layed down one of your smokin acoustic guitar solos in place of the mouth solo. It still sounds...

    How We Gonna Get Home?

Nice song. :-) Totally nice groove. You mention de-essing, which may be part of it, but I think the reverb is really bright and perhaps too much. I also hear that slap-back which may be part of the reverb pre-delay. I'll be waiting for your updated mix! :)

Anybody would like to sing a couple of tunes for me?

Africa huh? I have to admit, that sounds fun. I'll have to check the range. I know there are some great harmonys in the song.

    Pro Quality Recording and Mixing!

Carlos, I listened a few times. Here's my comments - in no particular order of importance. Keep inmind, it's just my opinion. :) I think that may be the best results I've heard using ECM8000's on drum overheads. What preamp did you use on the overheads? The piano is fantastic! I didn't...

    "Panic Attack" (New Song)

Great sound and production. I love the dynamics in your music. The guitar sounds you get on your recordings are always pleasing to me. Great job man!

    old song

Thank you for the listen guys, I'm sorry that file is so BIG! Toki - we are no longer together, although we still keep in touch. A few of those guys have gone on to other projects and have had some mild success. Jake-owa- Steve Howe was a big influence of mine. I don't notice it, but many...

New Mix - "For All That You've Done" - Are the vocals too loud??

Hmmm. To answer your question, I myself do not think the vocals are too loud. They are not clear to me however. What mic and preamp did you used to record the lead vocal with? My guess is that you need to just work a little more with the EQ of the instruments to make some room for the vocal...

    old song

Kelly5150 - Thanks man. You nailed all our influences! :-) Therage! - We did this at a home studio, 16 track Tascam, TEC Scorpion desk, he had some high dollar outboard gear (Including the vocal mic), but I didn't pay much attention to that stuff back then. I know I did the clean guitar...

    HRC4 Coming up!

Thanks for asking. :D Her name is Wini Shaw. Now I know that doesn't ring a bell, but she won an Oscar for singing the song "Lullabye of Broadway" in the movie "Golddiggers of 1935" We now set this tread on it's intended direction. Sorry if I did a little derailing.

    old song

That 4 track thread got me inspired to post this old song which I recorded with my band back in 1988. I played all the guitar parts. This is a long song - sorry for the file size. www.artistcollaboration.com/~caryindy/coat_master_mixdown01.wma

    HRC4 Coming up!

No problem, and for those who are wondering too, I was named after Cary Grant, a famous male actor. (My grandmother was a famous actress in the movie business) So, who need's a partner? :-)
