    I hate ups

I have to agree about UPS. If there was 1 company on the face of this Earth that I could force out of business,it would be them. I have a friend that used to work for them-and he will NOT use their services.

    I hate ups

Well-I'm thinking this is going to have a happy ending. Called Panasonic-Mein Gott!!-that was like having a root canal!! They finally got someone to do some research, and call me back. They gave me 2 part numbers for Ornaments-they couldn't tell exactly what they were. Also got 5 part numbers for...

    I hate ups

Scored a RAMSA WRS4424 for cheap. Unfortunately, the seller shipped it via UPS. Yep,it's been dropped-broke the front left corner plastic. Any chance of getting a replacement? This really disgusts me-this thing is so clean.

    Build Date Code

I have a Mackie 1604 VLZ Pro mixer. I think they started making these in 1999. On the build date tag,it has: OM1009 Does that mean Originally Manufactured October 1999? It definitely is a Made in USA model. Thanks.

Remotes for Otari MX-5050 MKIII 8 track

Is it best to use the manual input levels when recording,or is it best to engage the button on each meter and let it record at "standard" level-whatever that is?

Remotes for Otari MX-5050 MKIII 8 track

If you decide to use dbx units, what I've experienced from recently acquiring dbx units for mine,is that you have to watch what you do on certain gear. The dbx150X units require that you have a TRS connector on the output-but the Ring isn't connected when going to an unbalanced Otari. The other...

Remotes for Otari MX-5050 MKIII 8 track

I have a spare remote that I might be willing to part with. I won't just 'give it away',though-the sucker wasn't cheap. And you'd have to build a cable for it.The issue with that is the Honda connectors that it uses aren't so easy to find-but I did find some, and have some extras.

The dbx150x units arrived-and I've got lots of questions

What I've done before is record through a pre, straight to the Otari 8-track,then convert that to ADAT Lightpipe and work on it in the computer. Don't wanna do that any more-I'd like to have a totally analog product. It seems to me that I'd be happier using physical devices to record and massage...

Best noise reduction unit for Otari 8 track?

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. I did go to ebay and look around-found a studio selling 5 of those dbx units,so I got all of them. Yes,my Otari is that 5050,and it does have weird cabling.I got my unit from a guy in New York several years ago,and he had made cables for it.But I've never...

Best noise reduction unit for Otari 8 track?

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. My Otari only has XLR's-I'm guessing somebody makes adapter cables?

Best noise reduction unit for Otari 8 track?

I've been looking around at a lot of dbx and Dolby stuff-haven't made a decision as to what would be best for my Otari 1/2" open reel machine. Any suggestions anyone has would be most welcome. It'd be great if someone knows of a single-unit machine that'll do 8 tracks at once-but I'm open to...

Syncing Otari open-reel to 003 Rack

My drummer and I are tracking to an Otari open-reel machine. We have done drums on about a half-dozen tunes, using 4 tracks. The signal from the tape will be routed through an ISA428 and converted to Lightpipe before it hits the Digi003,on into the PC. Is there any way to sync my Otari/ISA428...
