I've sort of been following this, but my personal suggestion (what I did my self) is the hamptone preamp and the P12 mic from Peluso. It's a great combo. While it won't be right on everything, niether will the 2247 LE, it sounds good on everything great on somethings. I can send some clips if...
Yup. Worthless pop filter, which is why I just use the technique of placing the mic at nose level to avoid most pops. But the mic is even more useless when not plugged in...

As above, I use mostly canare cables with nutrik connectors, but I do have a blueberry cable. And I have never chose it above or below the canare becasue of sound quality. I do like the Canare better because they feel better and seem to tangle less easy.
Just for comparison.
It would be about $26 at redco for some nice canare cable and nice connectors for 2 6ft xlr-trs cables.
And it would be cheeper if you built them yourself, it's not that hard.
My vote is for a AKG 414 (take your pick XLS is flat, while XLII has a presence peak) and a Great River ME1-NV (though you might want to check out the DRS-1).
The 414 is just simply a studio standard and cannot be had with out. Vocals, Guitar (acoustic or electric), Piano, Drums, etc... It will...
Here is another idea:
Do you have a vocal (LDC) condensor?
If Do which one?
Maybe you could use the condensor on the outside of the resonant head. I do this all the time, for jazz it is the only way I mic a kick. One LDC right on the front head. For rock I'll put a RE-20, D112, or MD421 inside...
To me the 4050 is like a more useful TLM103. (because of multiple patterns) Use it where flattering is unessesary. When I run out of 4050s then I reach for TLM 103. (this isn't often)
If you get the 4050, you will also have a great Room mic aswell!
Who needs to know how to type to record? Spacebar is play and ctrl+Spacebar is record! No need to spell things out. Use abreviations. Vox, GTR, OH, kik, etc... :D :D :D
I agree with what was said above.
Plus the cymbals sound WAAAAY too harsh. I couldn't finish the song, because it was hurting my ears.
I do like the sounds from the guitar and the drums are decent (exept for the cymbals), but the other thing that stood out was that the song felt unballanced...
Oh yeah, I forgot about the pelusos. They are about 700 per pair and 100 per extra capsul. Omni, Cardinoid, Wide-Cardinoid, and Hyper-Cardinoid are available.

Check 'em out at the bottom of the page.
I did the same thing. Never sounded good on vocals (ok one time on a rap song it sounded INCREDIBLE). But I have found somewhere that I like it as one of my goto choices.
Guitar cabs.
Yup. Place a 421 right on the grill in the center of the cone but facing the edge, and a baby bottle 3-4 feet...
Hehe
When I read the title I imagined a kiwi like pac-man (kiwi the fruit) eating your pre amp...
Other than that I have nothing constructive to say...
