    Watchtower (REMIX) (Hendrix cover)

That is a lot of fun to listen to. On poor (laptop) speakers, it sounded like it had no bass and the vocal lines were quiet. On better (but not great) speakers the bass was apparent and the vocals sounded right in the mix. I only mention this because so many people will listen on phones and...

Black Sabbath Warpigs cover mix critique

You put a lot of work into that, I think it sounds great. A little bit more bass would be good, but seriously, it is great.

Black Sabbath Warpigs cover mix critique

I want to hear this but do not have dropbox... any chance you might have it shared some other way by now? Soundcloud, Youtube, ...?

PF Wish You Were Here cover.

The latest from The Guest Room Studio, another collab with my friend on vox. I think the overall vox levels are good, but sometimes I listen and feel like they are a bit too hot. I also have mixed feelings about the vox echoes and bringing the bu vox in and out throughout. I feel like the...

    Buffalo Springfield cover, constructive criticism???

Thanks again, everyone, I need to put this one on the back-burner for a bit now with other things going on, but I really appreciate the feedback. Since I am almost always producing/mixing things that I am playing, I think I come into the final mix holding onto feelings in the back of my mind...

    Buffalo Springfield cover, constructive criticism???

Thanks so much, everyone, I think this is the final, final mix :)

    Buffalo Springfield cover, constructive criticism???

Yeah, I don't have my proper gear with me here on vacay... listened in the car (where I expect it to sound a little boomy) and thought I should bump the bass a little, but obvs gave it a little too much. Thanks for the listens, I will update later today hopefully...

    Buffalo Springfield cover, constructive criticism???

Another collaboration with my friend. I did all the music and he did vocals remotely and sent a couple stems. I love this song and I'm mostly pretty happy with this version, but always appreciate fresh ears giving a listen. Thanks in advance for feedback! ***NEW, UPDATED MIX LINK BELOW***

    Baba O'Riley Cover

Yes, midi drums... but I think I do a pretty fair job of humanizing and treating the drums, I have only ever used a couple of free drum plugins and a couple of my mixes have left listeners saying, "wow, great drummer". If you would have asked me 20 years ago, I never would have believed what is...

    Baba O'Riley Cover

I usually put a high pass on the mix at 40, so no surprise there. I feel like the high pass lets me bring the levels up a little without hitting compression and limiting too hard with frequencies that get lost for a lot of listeners... but I will go back and experiment, maybe move the high pass...

    Baba O'Riley Cover

I think I am often guilty of too much bass... I will have to listen again with a few different speakers...

    Baba O'Riley Cover

Thanks, everyone, I took all the advice into consideration... The hard-panned guitars have more character, so I turned down the main rhythm and brought up the more distorted parts I brought up the edge guitar a bit and knocked the vox down a bit It does get repetitive (I did not copy/paste...

    Baba O'Riley Cover

This was a fun project and I think it is done now. I did all the backup tracks and my buddy did the vocals remotely and sent a stem back, then I put the lead guitar on. I have messed with stems before, but this is the first time a stem has gone into a final mix, pretty cool, I think. He had...

    Critique my Wall instrumental please

Thanks so much. That solo was actually a scratch solo from I-don't-know-how long ago, but when I was tracked all the other stuff it just seemed to fit nicely. The level was a little low, but the tone was there. I am not sure if I could play a better take than that without driving myself a...

    Critique my Wall instrumental please

I realized a certain "character compressor" I was using squashes the highs a little more than I like. Although I do like it slightly dark sounding, I see what you mean. For the bass, I was messing around with sending all the bass lines to a parallel saturation track that I mixed back in... I...

    Critique my Wall instrumental please

Thanks, I actually did part 2 first, then went back and did the other two parts and made them fit. I could have spliced that together a little better.

    Critique my Wall instrumental please

Never heard of RPM/FAWM... I am just a recreational guitar/bass player with some fun toys and a DAW I have been teaching myself to use for about a year now. But after a quick search I might have a look at those. The INCOALMO Challenge was started by someone I know and he though it would be...

"Time To Breathe" A Pink Floyd Inspired jam

I like it a lot! Just uploaded my own Floyd-inspired mix and very surprised to see this posted! Guitar tone is nice, playing is very nice. Good job all around.
