I've read about that one but I love the cans I have now. I've dnloaded a few free trials & not impressed so far. Checking the mix in mono may help & eliminate the cross-freed issue, but it won't help with panning of course. I'm going to do a trial of this - it looks promising...

I'm trying to get up to speed with luffs. I've been doing old-school gain staging, - 18 DB RMS and - 12 peak. So far from what I'm reading, the integrated range for luffs on the master bus is somewhere around -9 - 20 to leave plenty of headroom for mastering. I know there's no exact rules, but...

thanks for the responses. I should have said mixing in mono to begin with for balance, but eventually making the mix stereo.

Thanks for yr input! Good ideas...i don't use an outboard mixer or controller, it's all computer-based. I hadn't thought about running the laptop closed & making the second monitor the main one. Something to consider!

I'm looking for a small, under 40 inch desk to use with my laptop-based studio. Ideally I would like to have a second monitor but I can't picture where it would go. Many of the workstation desks have a second shelf for speakers to put them up at ear level but that's really too high for a second...
