G'mornin gents (and ma'ams) :D So our band wants to record as a unit. Mic bleed and everything. I built my room for a one man band...so it's kinda small. Roughly 14' by 20' and I raised the ceiling to about a 10' pitched roof. I brought up that I could mix everything better if we mic'ed the...

I've got a 2X15 cab and plan on using my old Sunn 200S 60 watt tube head. The head has a 4 and 8 ohm out. Extra long scale bass string...?

Emphasis on the "extra long scale". I believe when I measured the length it was at 35 and a quarter. I'm looking for some flatwounds for my 4 string and I was wondering if you guys had a preference. The band I'm in now will be doing 90's rock...some Papa Roach, Three Doors Down etc, then some...

    A Leather guitar cover???

Taken from the article... "Chuck Smith of Valley Center, Calif., holds a guitar with a leather cover he designed for Eric Clapton........ ." uh... Maybe I'm missing something but wouldn't wrapping your guitar in leather kind of negate the tone you'd get from the body a bit? I...

So I've been working with this set up for a few years now ..... the 2 traps in the corners in the first pic, along with the chunk type foam above and below em have been taken out to be replaced by the corner traps I'm gonna build next. The 2nd is just the back of the room behind my desk...

    703 acoustical properties

Does the 703 have certain acoustical properties that other rigid insulation doesn't? I've got some 2" thick pink rigid sittin around. It's Owens Corning 250. I need to build some corner traps by doing the triangle cuts and stack em up way of building. What say you gurus of the acoustic world...

    Book shelves...?

I've read that having a book shelf, full of different sized books is good for.... bass trapping? Diffusion? What? Cuz it makes sense for bass trapping. I've seen some of those wood block setups where they've got strategically cut lengths of 2X4's or whatever that are mounted to the framework...

    Truss rod adjustments...? maybe?

I've got an old Ibanez that I've had for close to 15 years that needs some work. Action has gotten a LOT higher than it used to be. It used to play like buttah but over the past few months, I've noticed it's gotten higher. By quite a bit. Close to 5/8ths of an inch at the 22nd fret...

    Says The Man

This un started as a guitar riff I liked but couldn't come up with a name or lyrics. Then I was flippin thru some lyrics I wrote about 23 years ago  and they seemed to fit. Still haven't come up with a lead guitar for it cuz my lead sucks. :o :D If ya get a minute, lend yer ears, huh...

Shure Beta 87A for female vox?

My moms birthday is comin up and I want to get her a mic. She's more of a tenor but can sing lower. Definitely not toward the soprano end. I was lookin at the 87A and was lookin for your thoughts on this. It'll probably never get used in a studio situation. She and my bro have lined up some...

    Capacitor question...(car stereo/sub)

My son has a 1000 watt Legacy amp and a 2X12 sub he wants to install in his car but he was told to put a capacitor inline somewhere so it didn't draw so much on the battery and overwork his alternator. Is this true? If so, what should he look for? He asked me but I don't know diddly about it...
