I'm recording a song with tempo changes. Normally I use the metronome when recording but how can I use this for tempo changes? Can I get the tempo to change dynamically by itself or can I get the tempo to be different after the bars of the other tempo.
Greetings, this is most in the section of the forum. I hope I'm not asking stupid questions.
I have a choice of two rooms I can turn into studios.
One is a 12x12x8 feet. This room has three walls of solid concrete. It's a basement but there are other rooms next to it which people rent. The...
When I'm in edit view and playing a file sometimes the white cursor disappears. This doesn't happen in multitrack even when using 5 tracks. How comes this happens to me only in edit view when I need it most most see where in the waveform I am as the audio plays.
This might seem stupid but I'm using a loop that was created in Fruity Loops. It has a crash at the end of the loops that fades a bit. When i use this in Adobe Audition the loops doesn't loop properly unless I cut off the fade. Is there a way to make to loop overlap so that the crash's fade...
I've been seeing some stuff online about multiband noise gates but I haven't actually found one as a plugin, directX. Does one exist and do multiband noise gates really sense to use?
I know this might sound stupid but when I'm doing my mix it sonds great at reasonable volume but it very different at quiter levels.
I just want to know is there something that s usually done about this or is it just trial an error to get a good compromise for a variety of levels?
I'm using a Delta1010LT and I want to use mics on the channels so I've been looking into some 8 channel pres that I could run 8 mics, XLR into and get XLR or TRS outs. So far I've seen:
Nandy PRA-8 Mic Preamp
SM Audio PR-8 II 8 Channel Mic Preamp
What u think?
I've been doing drums lately and it seemsthat everytime I use the preamp on the Delta it sounds bad. It sounds like it being distorted like there is too much level. But even when the level is the lowest it sounds the same. The levels I get into Audition look ok but the sound itself still sounds...
I've been recording 7 tracks at once, they are drums, but some times one of the tracks seems to record ealier. I guess that means the others have a delay. But what causes this? Sometimes it even happens in the middle of the recording.

Based on what has been said around here and some of my assumptions. Is it possible that it can be said that: “Using plugins and the like, the bottleneck in mastering at home is the monitoring of material, in terms of actual monitors used, space you are in and the interconnections between them...
Hey, I recorded this the other day. It's my first. I posted this elsewhere but I'm not getting much feedback. I'm wondering if I could get some feedback please.

This is the first song I’ve really ever recorded. There are some issues I know of involving how somestuff was recorded but I couldn’t get the guys back to re-record. I’d just like to hear oyour initial thoughts then I’ll tell you what I really did and then you guys can really dig into me. Please...
Are there any good sources out there about mastering? I’ve been looking and what I’ve mostly been finding is just mixing. I would just like something that specifically speaks of mastering, especially using a computer. Mostly for those steps where bands carry in their recorded and mixed tracks...
I have 20watt Edirol pair and I'm looking for some better monitors. I was looking at the BX8. I especially like the idea of using BX8s, BX5s and SBX in a 5.1 arrangement. But it seems the BX8s don't seem to be getting that good of reviews. Seems only their price is what they have going for them...
Has anyone heard Crossfade’s self titiled album? It was recorded and produced by the guys in the band.
I have two questions about it:
What do you think of how it sounds in terms of the recording?
What exactly are the differences between recording, mixing, mastering and producing?
Recently I've become really interested in dual core and dual processor machines. However I'm wondering how useful this will be with the software I use. Right now I use Sound Forge, Acid Pro and Adobe Audition (Cool Edit). Do these programs take advantage of dual machines and if not, what...
I recorded a few tracks with Acid no prob. Then when I try to just open audio files they open but there is no waveform and nothing can be heard. Has this happened to anyone and did they fix it?
I’m sure this sounds ridiculous but I don’t know how to do it.
If I’m recording, let’s say, a guitar part over a drum part. Where the drums go for the entire song but the guitar riff isn’t always played. I want to be able to start the drums just before the guitar comes in and record the guitar...
