Ideas or opinions on the Allen&Heath GS3 mixer?

I bought a GS3 a couple of months ago, just went through it to see that everything worked, recorded some basic tracks. I then moved and it's been sitting in my parents' basement. With my limited experience with the sound quality I really can't say if it's better or worse than the Mackie. It has...

    marshall v67m vs v67g?

I have both and they truly sound the same to me. The measurements I've made comparing the two has also showed no differences (inbetween my two specimens). For further info check out the linked thread above. /Henrik

    MXL v67m & v67G

Hi, I can't see any difference in the grill between the two. I actually counted the number of vertical 'wires' on each mic. 46 on the front of each mic. The gauge seems the same as well, It's kind of hard to compare the black wire with the gold wire but to my eyes... The one purpose of posting...

    MXL v67m & v67G

As an acoustics student and proud owner of the V67G as well as the V67M I decided to do a few tests in our university's anechoic chamber, utilizing a reference mic capsule, Bruel & Kjaer 4134, totally linear from 20 to 10kHz, with a rise of 2,5 dB around 15 kHz. The B&K's specs are correct...

Now that everyone has one of these by now . . .

One size doesn't fit all, now does it? ;) I can live quite comfortably with the varied opinions on this track because I'm so totally sure that if I had the opportunity tomorrow, I'd record it exactly the same way. As I said, the sound in the song was something that had lurked around in my...

    v67 shock mount

My mount is so damn tight I could hardly get it on, and now I just barely managed to get it off without scratching the mic. Won't try that everyday... Think I got the wrong mount (purposed for the 2001), though. I have one green and one black V67 and I've always hated the look of the green/gold...

Now that everyone has one of these by now . . .

Wow, thanks! I like it myself, think it has mostly to do with this guy having a great expression in his voice. One thing I did though, is something that I had heard in my head för a long time. The vocals are close mic'd as usual, appr. 3-4" away. This was in the band's rehearsal space...

Now that everyone has one of these by now . . .

Thanks, Chessrock! The bass drum is pretty much only the overheads (603s) but I compressed the hell out of the V67 to give it the special sound. I think I might have been better off using something like a D112. Everything has gone through a Behringer MX2004A, and then Cubase and plug ins...

Now that everyone has one of these by now . . .

Hi, I've had good results with the V67 on electric guitar (Fender HotRod 1x12", 2' away), a very open and if you may 'authentic' sound which suited the band perfectly. I've also used two of them (one green and one black, looks awful!) as an X/Y-pair of drum overheads. Sounded awsome! May have...

    Micing Fire

This wouldn't be micing it but I've made a realistic fire by playing big chords on my keyboard. The sound? You guessed it, I have a 'vinyl crackle' sound in my Yamaha RM1x. When I moved the chords around the crackles and pops at different frequencies made it sound much more realistic than I...

    New song - new gear

Thanks gmiller1122, I confess to not knowing what annunciation means. I see the similarities with pronounciation but I'll look it up when I find a dictionary. ;) Regards, /Henrik

If you find the time here's a song that needs opinions. ;) http://w1.183.telia.com/~u18305816/henrik.wikner_-_you_still_know.mp3 Hope you're feeling better, Regards, /Henrik, Luleå
