What do you call the cue track? Also its the live track being too loud thats the problem rather than the previously recorded track (which is too quiet). Im recording drums so could do without them coming through my headphones at all. Presently, I cant hear what im playing along to over my drums.

Monitor Problems Also on the FD8, whenever I'm recording I'm fine about adjusting the monitor volume of previously recorded tracks to play along to, but how do I adjust the volume of the track im recording coming through my headphones?! The normal Input/Track knob doesnt make any difference...

Im sure its no surprise to most of you. But looking at my Stagg and Red5 bass drum mics they look identical (shown below). There is not one difference between the two, apart from the logo. The Red5 mics seem to get better reviews than the Stagg mics, does this mean they are different on the inside?

I am currently using an SM57 to record vocals. I want to buy a condenser, and for costs purposes be able to use it as an extra overhead on my drums. I'm using a Behringer B5 as the single overhead at the mo, I'll move that on to the hi-hats and have the second condenser placed as an overhead...

How far away from the mic should the pop filter/singer be? I'm recording on an SM57/Red Audio RV6/Behringer B5.

I love the QOTSA drum sound, quite dampened, quick delay but still quite big. Anyone know how to get roughly this drum sound? I'll dampen my drums for a start. Using Red5 mics and SM57 on snare. Im thinking EQ settings, effects and mic positioning.

Im gonna be buying the RVK5 set (drum mics without overheads), use an SM57 on the snare and a Behringer B5 as an overhead. Sound a good idea?
