I was wondering if anyone can point to the direction of a tutorial or manual for Adobe Audition 2.0? I'm pretty familiar with it so far, just want to find all the nooks and crannies.

looks like it will be a condensor then. would you recommend 1 or 2, like for an xy setup? if you can listen to the soledad brothers' live cd on itunes, that's the sound i want to achieve.

I want to start recording my band's concerts to make a live CD. What is the best way to approach this? Should I direct out of the soundboard or setup a condensor mic? Some advice would be nice!

we're using 15ft mic cables at the most. the drums are in a very isolated booth too...could that also be an issue as to why the dynamics are weak?

We're using a firepod to record. the tracks are very muddled and sound like they are compressed; in other words, the dynamics of the drums especially are almost nothing. i'd say go for the new macbooks. They have duo processors now which are much faster than your standard processor. A good one will run for about 1300-1400$

New Question: Logic Express 7.1 with firepod New Question. I picked up a copy of logic express 7.1 yesterday. I set the audio driver to the Firepod ASIO but it only records in stereo, tracks 1+2. How do you go about changing it to each mono track? It labels the driver as CoreAudio.

I just hooked my firepod up to my new G5 using Soundtrack Pro only to find that Soundtrack Pro lets you only select one channel at a time to record. You cannot register the entire FIREPOD ASIO to use for all 8 tracks, only 1 track at a time...shoud I be using another program for multitracking on...

i found the solution. under each track is a read, write, touch, etc. option for the sliders for each track. i had them all off instead of on "read".
