I finally got a song done on the FD-8 with a real band (before i'd only done stuff with me and drum machine)
It was hard to get the noise down and the levels right, but I think it's pretty good.
Now the mixdown is another thing altogether.
I got it to where i can get seperate left and right...
I am debating whether or not to save up for a Carvin PA system, or for any pa system for that matter.
I would be getting the carvin package with their 200 watt 6 channel PA, 2 12" speakers w/ horns, 2 mics, and cables. $700
I'm pretty sure this is a good deal, my question is really does anybody...
I've finally ironed out all my problems recording on the fd-8, those being things like track management, pan, drum mics, vocals . . .
I want to mix down to a .wav on my computer, but i can only get a mono signal on the mic in. There are two line in's: one gives me live sound out the speakers but...
When I mic the drummer's kit with two shitty mics (Audio Technica DR1000), you can really hear the room. It sounds like the mics are kind of far away, but they're not. They're right up close. I've tried a few placements: one on the snare and one high on the front of the kick, one in between the...
I was searching the web for a list of the top billboard hits of all time in rock or popular or whatever genre.
I can't find it.
The reason for this is i would like a good cover song for my band. We already do a ripping version of "Under the Sea" from the little mermaid. A stroke of genius on my...
Yay!
The FD-8 is awesome. I had little trouble to shoot, and about a 1 hour learning period.
I still have a few questions, though.
All my gear is at the drummer's house, so all i had to test it with today was a little radioshack mic, an acoustic/electric, and an Alesis drum machine.
But i did...
My digital 8-track is coming next week and I was wondering what would be the best way to utilize 2 mics for recording a drum kit.
They aren't drum mics, they're Shure SM58's. Can anybody tell me the best placement?
What is the best way of getting a song from an FD to a wave file on the computer, or to another file format that can be converted to CDA track?
I know i could always go into the line in on my sound card, but that would result in a loss of quality. I would much rather do a direct conversion, if...
