Im considering one of these 2 mics. What I would like to know is, are either of them okay for distance micing? I have been normally using a 57 up close and a 4050 away, on guitar cabs. Can either of these produce good results from a couple feet away from a cab? I want the mic to serve multiple...

I just won an M9 on ebay for $175. Im stoked about it and Im already thinking of swapping the stock tube for a better one. I hear it makes a big difference. I have a number of old RCA 12ax7's that work. Would this be better or do I need to spring for a Mullard? Thanks
