    meeting with Syntrillium founder

clarification Pundit, I looked at his business card - you're correct. Actually, he is 50% owner handling all the programming side of the business. His partner, who wasn't there, handles the numbers side. Argo, Granted, my vision may be limited because I don't do midi. So in terms of...

    meeting with Syntrillium founder

Guys, I spent 20 minutes with the founder of Syntrillium, Steve Johnston at the recent NAMM show in Anaheim. An updated release will be available in April, which will resolve some of bugs, including the Looping No Gaps glitch. He also didn't know about this forum. He'll have his support...

my HALLOWEEN offering - "The Payment"

Rob, As always, great guitar and bass playing. Vocal harmonies are also well done. If I had to add my 2 cents' worth, I'd say crank the mids a bit more. Yves.

    16-bit vs 24-bit samples

does anyone know where I can access a .wav or mp3 sample recorded at 16-bit, with the same sample recorded at 24-bit? or would anyone consider recording the samples on CEP2.0 at both rates for me and e-mailing the files? I'll return the favor with a gift - no kidding. I need at least 30...

funky and heavy, a short fun instrumental.....

I like it, I like it. You really got me tapping at the 1:44 mark. Reminds me a bit of old Dixie Dregs. Funky bass, great harmony guitar. If you can edit the waveforms on a PC, I suggest silencing the guitar clicks at the 27 sec mark. Well done.

    No reviews? Do they suck?

Chrisharris, Thanks for the feedback. There is synthbass and string bass on WAR. I'm slapping string, and pounding synth. Neither are programmed. My partner is singing. Here is the trick to the "air" vocals, Double the vocal track, pan one to left, one to right. Delay the right track by...

    No reviews? Do they suck?

Sabbath, Thanks for the feedback. You're right. I EQd the mids a bit too high in error because I was using crappy headphones during mixdown. The song has a synth bass line, and I'm slapping a string bass that follows the bass drum. I'll remix, mixdown, re-EQ, and re-post.

    No reviews? Do they suck?

Kramer, thanks for the tips and comments. I agree. I'll pan the snare and vocals to center. I'm not a huge Pink Floyd fan, but I do hear the similarities. I am a Peter Gabriel fan. Thank again.

    No reviews? Do they suck?

I noticed that I'm the only one that is not receiving reviews. Do these tunes suck too much for comment? Or is cash distribution required for feedback? I'm new to this forum, so I'm not too familiar with the rules. http://www.nowhereradio.com/cell4/singles Man, there is some great talent in...

    Suggestions on Mixing and EQ

Here are 2 of 4 songs I'm in process of finishing www.nowhereradio.com/cell4/singles I would appreciate some feedback on the mixing and EQ i.e. levels on each instrument and general EQ comments - treble too high, to low etc... Any effects tricks that you audio experts out there may have...

    vocal enhancement tip

esactun, I did the traveling reverb experiment. Neat - its clear why its called "traveling" reverb. Voltaidiota - I don't understand. Certainly the phase between waveforms will be shifted since there there is a 30ms delay between them, but how does that cause problems?

    vocal enhancement tip

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try that one this evening. If interested, all MP3s posted on www.yvesb.com are recorded using Cool Edit Pro ver. 1.2 - no hardware effects.

    vocal enhancement tip

I'm sure this tip was discovered already, but I've not seen it on this board: 1) Lock vocal track in time 2) Double vocal track by pressing the shift key and right mouse key, and move it to other tracks. You now have double vocal tracks. 3) Delay the second track by 30ms (click on track...

    Sync. Problem

You're defining latency - the time it takes for your sound card and PC to process and record sound. The processing time will cause a delay between what is played on your instrument and the point in which it will record. You can measure and set latency on your software, overcoming the problem...
