I have had this EQ for a few months. I really like the EQ, I like how you can add it to tracks and then get a nice overview of all of the tracks and look where you are getting frequency conflicts. Nice tool, not cheap, but seems worth the money.

The problem that I noticed, I was tracking bass, and I play with a pick and was using that fast attack. There was this delay that was horrible. I have my latency set (TASCAM driver) set to low. Switched to very low, nothing. I turned off the Pro-Q and the latency was gone. Maybe I have to use it only for mixing and use delay compensation to cure the problem, but it didn't seem to have that issue before.

Anyone else have this plugin and experience the same issue? I've looked it up and have read other's experience with this, but didn't find a cure. If you know a solution, I would be grateful for that information.

I have that plugin, but I guess I'd never imagined someone using it live. Are you recording the output of the plugin or not? If not, just do it after the fact. Anyway, it seems like the kind of effect one wouldn't want to be stuck with if it's not quite right.

I think you're right. Most of my plugins are effects so I use them live. But in this case, it really is a mixing focused plugin and not needed live. I just never noticed it before (it could be I didn't use it live) and was curious.

I like it and will keep using it, just have a better understanding of its limitations. Thanks for the quick reply.

I have ProQ4 and sometimes use it live so it can give me a frequency guide to adjust my hardware EQ to while tracking and haven't heard any latency. Isn't there a setting on the bottom where you can switch ProQ to zero latency? I don't even know if that's a function related to live use. But, yeah, there's no latency for me here.

There's no such thing as zero latency in the digital realm, but you can get it pretty low given the right conditions. Analog is typically orders of magnitude less (effectively zero).

FabFilter Pro-Q 4 offers zero latency - its a big selling point. - However for some people after activating Spectral Dynamics for the first time after loading up ProQ4 the whole channel gets delayed - Its gone after bypass/enable ProQ4 again - @DM60 is this what you are doing?

Based on your comment, I add PRO-Q, added Spectral Dynamics, got the delay. Bypassed, re-enabled, still delay, cleared the dynamics and noticeable delay was gone (There is some there, I just couldn't tell it). Thanks for the tip.
