Hat STYLE. Not contents.
I wrote and recorded this song on Sunday. It's a ~30 sec theme song for a friend's comedy production company.

It's completely unmastered, so you'll probably need to turn up.

Flac and MP3 are both posted on the link
File Leaker | Regdar and the Fighters

Let me know what I need to fix.

Thanks!

lol, well that was different! how'd you do the harmonies? All sounds good to me, I just wanted to hear the feedback at the end of the music go on for another second.

The feedback as in the tail on the guitars, etc. or the choral? That's how I tracked it, so I don't know how much I can extend it, but I may take a stab at it.

The vocals are... 7-part harmony in Lydian(?), each part doubled, reverb to 11. (I've been working on a glam album lately, so lots of practice with big ol' Queen harmonies! :D )

That was weird. But good.

No real nits. It was almost over before it started. Vocals sounded nice.

Yeah. I've been doing a lot more theme songs for friends' projects lately. They're kind of fun because you get to make them so short.

Cool.

That's pretty cool Steve. I wonder, as a theme song, if you want to put 20 seconds of vocal oohs and aahs at the beginning? Perhaps if there was a lyrics there, something to grab the listener's attention. I could not make out the words in the final harmony part.

It's possible the intro will throw people off. She mostly performs at conventions tho, so the thought is that it will give people time to get to their seats and settled. (I've got a 3 minute version too!)

The last word is Shaymin. It's... kind of her thing? :D

There ya go!

Full disclosure: I didn't actually track anything new for the extended version. Just a mess tonne of copy-pasting. :D

Now you tell me! ;)

Actually, I did notice something on this version that I didn't on the first--the volume swells on the ooh/aahs. Is that automated or did you track the vocals like that?

The swells are just the other parts reversed. (So there are ultimately 8 passages: passages 1-3 forwards, passages 1-3 backwards, the tenor parts of p2 over the bass parts reversed, and the tenor parts of p2 reversed over the bass parts forwards)

Ah, so short it was over just as I started to get a feel for it. One good thing about this length is one can easily listen a few times through without tiring of it.

Anyway, the vocal sections sound really nice. I like the thick reverb applied. Nice harmonies.

Wow, cool. I thought that was really interesting and entertaining. I have a comment about the timing. It bothered me that the vocals came back in at :14 when I really wanted them to come in at :13. It seemed like a beat too long of silence to me. Also the last set of oohs and aahs or whatever at the very end...I wanted them to start a little sooner too.

Thanks, Heat!

Wasn't obvious to me. sounded like a few different peeps in there

Thanks, Jessica. Full disclosure: I was going for that "medieval chant" sound but I didn't do any research. I just did something in 3/4, so that's where the long pause at 0:13 comes in. I may revisit that. I think the pause before Shaymin is correct tho.
