Posting a ton of songs at one time smacks of 'click hunting' rather than getting mix feedback. Maybe its just me that feels this way ...

I feel bad posting two songs in a week without responding to a handful of others. no, you're about right

Well, I wasn't aware of that. I haven't posted to the forums in six or seven years, and the last time I did, I'd put up a link to my old Soundclick page and got a bunch of helpful comments on several tracks at once. Times change, I guess. Can't say I'm thrilled by the reception I'm getting around here this time around.

Everyone here, regardless of talent level or experience, wants feedback and clicks - best to approach it from a pay-it-forward perspective. Leave some feedback for others and try not to dominate the main feed with your own posts. Most, but not all, watch to see how generous and helpful we are with each other - I learned the hard way as well, so don't worry too much about it ;)

I'll check out some tunes on my lunch shorty - just help out some others when you get a chance. welcome back ;)

instrumentation isn't bad, i like the bass tone, but vocals are quite pitchy. strings sound good to me and the reverb application seems very appropriate for this song, it blends everything well. i'd just focus on the vocal performance. your song descriptions on soundcloud remind me of a 5-star restaurant presenting its courses.

Thanks andrushkiwt, I appreciate your thoughtful reply. Again I apologize to all if I breached the house rules in my excitement to get my stuff out for critique. A lot of bits and pieces have piled up over the last several years and I've heard them way too many times to be objective about it, you know.

Yeah, those vocals...literally ad-libbed them as I so often do when I sketch ideas out. They will be redone, of course. I was more interested in experimenting with the strings and the mix that night anyway.

As a sometimes writer I like to have fun with descriptions and commentary. Liner notes, as it were. If I wasn't burnt out on graphic design I'd probably supply a "picture sleeve" as well; I feel that you the listener deserve a complete entertainment package. :-)

cheers

Billy S.
